Kara Got home at 9:40 AM, laid in bed, and stared at her ceiling until she fell asleep. Jon texted at 10:02 AM: Made it home? She replied , Yeah. That was it. The flowers were on the kitchen counter. Kara prepared breakfast, ate and went back to sleep almost immediately.
Kara woke up 1:30pm, she checked her phone and noticed Jon hasn't called or texted. Probably working or sleeping, she said to herself.
She decided to do some laundry and other domestic chores.
Grrrr! grrrrrr!
Kara's phone was ringing, she hurriedly picked it up. “Ms. Clayton?” Nancy said from the other line.
“Mr. Marsh is in a meeting,” Nancy said. Cool. Professional. “With staff. He’s unavailable.”
Relief hit her so hard her knees almost gave out. Not a gap. Not the hospital. Just work. “Oh. Thank God.” answered K
