Three weeks later. The restaurant was on a corner downtown. Brick walls, big windows, long wooden tables. A signpost above the door: "The Lily Marsh Free Table - All Are Welcome. No Payment Needed." Kara was in the back in an apron, chopping vegetables. Nancy was at the front, greeting people. Volunteers moved everywhere. Jon was doing interviews. “This was Lily’s dream,” he told a reporter. “A place where dignity comes first. You sit, you eat, you’re treated like family.” Kara watched him from the kitchen door.
