Chapter 8- Dear Daddy

1416 Words
Sophie I downloaded the infamous Fantasy app, but, yeah not before thinking infinite times. Damn. I had to upload a picture. I thought I'd just go with some random fake photo, but when I scrolled through the profiles I noticed that most of the women's pictures were way more s****l, revealing their body parts without a second thought. But since I was shy, I decided to upload my side profile picture, not the face. Then I realized.. s**t — I was wearing my night shirt and pajama trousers in it. Nothing sexy about it. Well fine. I went with it anyway. I was too lazy to change into something better. Then came the name. I pondered for a good five minutes, tapping my finger against my chin like it was the most serious decision I'd ever made. Finally, I decided to go with Baby Girl. I laughed the moment I typed this awkward name, then patted myself on the back. Not bad, Sophie. At the very least, you're decent at making fake names. I scrolled down my phone screen, looking for anyone who could be a match for me, but there were so many profiles. God. How was I supposed to find the right person in this sea of strangers? I don't even know what got into my head when I reached the age preference column and set it to forty-five years old. The exact moment I typed it in, Alexander's face flickered in front of my eyes. Damn it, Sophie. Forget about that man. He is so far out of your league. A man like Alexander Fox would never feel anything for a girl like me. He was an experienced man who had probably had every kind of woman imaginable. And I was just a naive. Innocent. But he kept coming back into my head no matter how hard I tried to push him out. The strange part was that I had never felt this way about James..not once in our entire marriage. Not even close. I shook my head, forcing the thought far away from me. I scrolled through several matched profiles but couldn't find a single person who felt right.. someone I could actually imagine spending a passionate night with. I sighed. Maybe these things just aren't for me. I was already reaching to close the app when a notification popped up. Someone had liked my profile. We could match, if I expect his match request. I opened the profile with slightly trembling fingers. His name was Dear Daddy. I burst out laughing, this app is something else . God. What kind of name is that? Very kinky. But then again — this app was full of all kinds. Some of the other men's profile names were way, way dirtier. At least this one had a sense of humor about it. I zoomed into his profile picture. It was a photo of his naked torso.. no face, just body. And.. god l gulped. There was absolutely no way this man was forty-five years old. That body. Hard, masculine, rough and tough. A set of defined six-pack abs that made my mouth go slightly dry. James had abs too decent enough, but nothing like this. This man's body was something else entirely. What should I do? I chewed my lip, staring at the screen for a long moment. Should I match back and accept his request? I thought about it. Thought about it longer than I probably should have. And then, with a sighed, I made my decision. Just this once. Just once, I wanted to give into desire. I wanted to live my life on my own terms — the way I never had, not truly. f**k the consequences. But then the guilt crept in right behind the resolve. I am still a married woman. The thought sat heavy on my chest for exactly three seconds before I remembered James. The way he'd looked me dead in the eye and told me that I was his worst s****l experience. Word for word. Like it was something reasonable to say to your wife. Like I was something to be dismissed. If he didn't respect the marriage vows, why should I? And honestly? Since the moment I laid my eyes on Alexander Fox, I was sexually frustrated that I didn't quite know what to do with. That wasn't James's doing. That wasn't anyone's doing. It was just something that man had awakened in me — something I hadn't even known existed before. Fine. I was giving into this adventure. I matched back with Dear Daddy, my hand visibly shivering as I pressed the button. God, I am so dramatic. I knew I was overreacting. But this was the first genuinely unholy thing I had ever done in my life, and my body didn't quite know how to process it calmly. I waited, staring at the screen. He didn't reply. Great. Just great. He'd shown all that desire and now he f*****g ditched me.I resisted the urge to throw my phone across the room. But then I glanced at the time and realized how late it actually was. Maybe he was just asleep. I should sleep too.I set the phone down, lay back against my pillow, and fixed my eyes on the ceiling. Even in the dark, even in the quiet, Alexander was still there, somewhere at the back of my memory. There was just something about him. The mystery. The way he carried himself. The way he looked at you like he already knew what you were thinking. I need to stop this. Maybe after spending a night with Dear Daddy — whoever he actually was behind that torso.. I'd finally be able to get rid of these stupid emotions. I closed my eyes and let sleep take me. When I woke up the next morning, I went through my morning routine. I had lost weight. Of course I had. Stress had a way of doing that, and between the betrayal, the separation, and everything burden over me these past few weeks. I sighed. I didn't have many clothes here either. Most of my wardrobe.. my clothes, my jewelry, everything I'd accumulated over years of marriage — was still at James's house. When I'd sent someone over to collect my belongings, he'd refused to let them take anything. What is he trying to do? He had already cheated on me. He had already destroyed everything between us. And now he was refusing to grant me a divorce and holding my own things hostage. It was petty and it was cruel, and I was done being patient about it. I needed to talk to Lily. It was time to file a case against him. I got dressed, grabbed my bag, and was about to head out the office, but my phone lit up. I glanced at it. Who could be, Nick, maybe? We are working on a new project. But when I reached a red light and picked it up, it wasn't Nick. It wasn't any message or missed call at all. It was a notification from the fantasy app. I opened it slowly, my heart already picking up its rapid pace before I even saw the words. Dear Daddy had expressed his desire to take things further. Holy hell. That meant — that meant we could talk directly. Privately. No third party involved, no app moderating the conversation. And if both of us were comfortable, if both of us agreed — we could arrange an actual meeting. The app even offered what it called an adventurous suite, a discreet arrangement for exactly this kind of situation. Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no. What was I supposed to do with this? Should I call Lily? Should I.. ohh stop it Sophie, you are a full-grown woman. I was not going to spiral over a notification. Stop it, Embrace life. Stop being the good girl all the time — look where that got you. I stared at the button on the screen. Then I pressed accept. The app confirmed: we were now a matched pair. We could talk freely, share whatever we wanted, completely privately. I closed my phone, dropped it into my bag, and sat in my car and started driving, still thinking whatever happened. By the time I pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main road, my phone lit up again. This time, it was a message. From Dear Daddy.
