34. ALL BY MYSELF It’s the start of another cold winter, The trees are withering away, Leaves scattered, The branches are all barren. Everything is being covered in a gloomy white, The days are getting shorter, Darkness spreads all around. While sitting on a bench all by myself, I make out two figures from afar, Under the dim glow of a street-lamp, Huddled together, Arm-in-arm, They bring warmth to each other, I’m envious. On the other hand, The only thing keeping me company is the cold snow. The sound of their merry laugh is ironically depressing, Seeing them so happy makes me feel conflicted, They don’t seem to mind the cold one bit. They walk towards me, Painfully slowly, But instead of watching their step, They only keep looking at each other, Perhaps everything
