You won't kill a wolf by chase, but by cunning.

A book can change a life. Books can enlighten, confuse, bring peace, and even war. Books lend truth to the phrase that “the pen is mightier than the sword”. Books can also aid in finding things that have been lost. Writers sometimes leave clues to where long forgotten objects can be located. I discovered this when I began thumbing through our library of old books. I had found what had been lost. They say I was destined to find it. Maybe time and karma helped me here. Maybe they gently pushed me in the right direction, the direction needed to take in order for me to pick up the old green book that cried out to me from the shelves of books in front of me. Pick it up I did, and my life was changed.
The stone has existed since the atmosphere enshrouding our world burned with fire and the primordial ooze that formed the building blocks of life began to ferment on our planet’s surface. It’s powers have never been completely understood. However, it has always been here, since the beginning of things. Roughly the size of a human fist it has drifted in and out of history until finally it was lost. The stone has enough power inside it to destroy worlds, end and perhaps, restart life. It also would burn a human to blackened dust if they were to even so much as touch it. Whatever brought the stone into the world of my kind will never be known. Yet, sometime long ago it was touched by our us and it now resonates with powers only the chosen among us can wield. Which brings us to the legends.
Only the purest of blood, the purest of our kind, can touch the stone and ultimately wield the power contained within. This is what is inscribed on the stone itself, etched there for all eternity. Our kind inscribed those words a long time ago. The author’s identity is also lost to time. What power is inside the stone? No one is entirely sure. The only certainty is that people would kill to have it, to control it, to wield it.
The legends say that I am the one to find this stone. They say that I will be the one to unite our people, to lead our people, and bring clarity to our existence.
We’ll see about that.
