The choice

He quietly lay down on the other side of the bed, back turned, pretending to sleep. Even in silence, their breathing synced. Morning came. Amanda slowly opened her eyes. Alex was still beside her. She couldn’t help but smile. Gently, she brushed a strand of hair away from his forehead. Amanda (whispering to herself): “Pull yourself together, Amanda. He’s not yours to love. He’s the man you’re supposed to arrest. There’s no room for love in this war.” She shook her head and got up. Amanda (lightly teasing): “Wake up. We’ve got work to do.” Alex opened one eye and yawned. Alex: “Did I fall asleep? That’s rare…” Amanda (softly): “Have you not been sleeping lately?” He didn’t answer. Instead, he quietly walked into the bathroom. Meanwhile… deep in the woods Ella was trapped in a rundown shack, yelling at the locked door. Ella (banging): “Open the door! Someone—help me!” Simon (opening it, annoyed): “Aren’t you tired of yelling? We’re in the middle of a forest. No one’s coming.” Ella (firmly): “I know my brother. He’s coming for me. And when he does… you’ll regret this.” Simon (mocking): “Let him come.” Meanwhile… Alex and Amanda entered room 203. Alex (skeptical): “You really think the diamonds are here? Why would they leave them somewhere so obvious? Anyone could’ve taken them.” Amanda (focused): “Just wait.” She started searching every corner—behind furniture, inside lampshades, even beneath the bed. Then she paused in the bathroom. Amanda crouched near a small tile corner. She reached in… Her fingers touched something hard. A diamond. Her eyes widened. Amanda (whispers): “Found you” Both of them stood still, their eyes locked on the diamonds. Alex: “Wait… these are only five?!” He held the diamonds in his palm, eyes narrowing. “There were supposed to be twenty. Where the hell are the rest?” Amanda (worried): “They must’ve moved them. Someone’s already been here. They took the rest…” Alex (furious): “Damn it!” He punched the nearest wall. “Tyler wants his diamonds in exchange for my sister. That bastard… He’s playing games!” Amanda (trying to calm him): “Alex. Breathe. We’ll find them.” Back in Boston – Night Amanda and Alex were walking the streets, both restless, defeated. Alex: “I checked every jeweler in the area. No one’s seen or touched those diamonds. If they’re still in Boston, they’re not on the market.” Amanda (thinking aloud): “Then they’re hidden. But where…?” She stopped suddenly, staring at a nearby photo booth. She slowly walked toward it, eyes fixed on a few old photo strips hanging on the side. One strip caught her breath. It showed Dianna and David — arms around each other, smiling in that same photo booth. Amanda (softly): “David… Dianna…” Alex walked up behind her, saw it — and froze. Emotion twisted across his face — rage, heartbreak, betrayal. He clenched his fists. Alex (coldly): “So this is where they used to go.” He stormed off. Amanda: “Alex! Wait!” Meanwhile – Everhart family dinner Everyone was seated, a disturbing air of formality around the table. Tyler and Hazel sat side by side. Bernard (to Jack): “I say we finalize this engagement quickly. A wedding will restore our name.” Jack (quietly): “Right…” Tyler (smiling at Hazel): “My sister will be safe with you. I’m sure of it.” Hazel nodded politely. Amanda entered the room, drawing everyone’s attention. Brianna: “Amanda? Where have you been?” Tyler (smirking): “With Alex Halton, no doubt. In Boston.” Amanda (taken aback): “What? No—” Bernard (raising a brow): “That’s not true… right, Amanda?” Amanda (coldly): “Of course not. My brother died because of them, remember?” Tyler (mocking): “Knew it. A woman like you would never waste her life on a guy like Alex Halton.” Amanda’s eyes darkened. Later — outside the house Alex appeared out of nowhere, his eyes locked on Tyler. Alex (roaring): “TYLER!” Before Tyler could react, Alex lunged and tackled him to the ground, raining down punches with pure fury. Amanda: “Alex! Stop! You’re going to kill him!” Alex (through gritted teeth): “GIVE ME MY SISTER!” Amanda pulled him back, gripping his arm tightly. “Look at me, Alex! You need to calm down.” Alex (panting): “He took her… He has my sister!” Harry rushed outside, shocked. Harry: “What the hell is going on out here?! Amanda?!” Amanda (pushing Alex back): “Leave, Alex. Now.” Tyler stood up slowly, bloodied but grinning. Tyler: “You’re going to pay for this, Alex.” Alex (about to charge again): “I swear, I’ll kill you—” Amanda (stepping between them): “Stop! Just go, Alex.” Tyler extended his hand toward Amanda with a sly smile. Tyler: Amanda stared at his hand. She didn’t move. Then she looked at Alex. Her eyes softened for a second.
