Chapter 26Joan I was rather exhausted by the time Roqe got me back to where I’d meet my friends. I learned so much today, and I’d told She-wa about the marshland that was being prepared for them. I had left She-wa and the entire aggregation with a much more hopeful look into the future. What now? When we cleared the last bend in the delta, I could see Darlene waiting, but Lana had left. I didn’t know if Sandy has been with them. That was understandable. I imagine it had been a couple hours. “Hey!” I yelled at her. She was just sitting in the boat, reading or something, but she wasn’t looking up. Her head popped up and a smile spread across her face when she saw me. “Welcome back,” she called with a wave.
