His mouth crashed onto mine with the same wild hunger I felt clawing inside my chest. Our kiss wasn’t gentle, it was desperate, bruising, the kind that pulled every bit of air out of my lungs. My fingers slid into his hair, tugging him closer, and he gripped my waist and then my butt, backing me up until my spine met the wall behind me. Everything else fell away. Breath, logic and anger, lost somewhere between his lips and mine. When we finally tore apart, panting, I saw it....his eyes. They weren’t the soft blue that had been looking at me with love these past few days. They were darker, stormy, almost wild…. like he was on something. The shift punched fear right into my stomach. Reality slammed into me. I slipped out of his arms and dropped to the floor, putting distance between us.
