Chapter 10 It was a six block walk from the log yard to my cabin, three south, three east. I moved as quickly as I could without running, Trouble seemed to be resting easily under his cage’s shroud, and I didn’t want to get him going again. He gave the occasional click with his beak, but was otherwise silent. What I wanted was to lock myself inside, set the alarm, go to bed. I’d settle for a change of clothes and my own guns if they were still there. I kind of doubted it, I simply don’t have that kind of luck, but it was worth a shot.
