"I think you like her."

"No I don't."

"You do. "

"I don't. "

"You do. "

"For God's sake Frank ,I don't like her." He rolled his eyes.

"Really? Then why were you so angry because she has a boyfriend?" Frank raised his brow in question.

"I'm not angry because she has a boyfriend, I'm angry because it's Tony. why Tony?" He couldn't for the life of him fathom why Isabelle would go for a man like Tony.

"We were best friends, Frank!

Best friends!" 

"It's been two years Ken, two goddamn years can't you just forget."

"We were engaged to get married so you should f*****g understand that it's not easy to forget." The scowl on his face was deep,

"I loved Anabelle, he knew that" he was very much angry at Frank for bringing up the subject of his ex.

"So you are trying to say, that if it was that Marvin guy or any other guy, you will be happy?" Frank asked with a smirk on his face, Knowing clearly he had hitten a nerve when the scowl on Ken's face deepend.

"You and I know Tony well enough to know that he's playing, and Isabelle is eventually going to get hurt".

"So you care about her?" Franks asked with an increasing smirk on his face.

"Of course I do, she is my employee been heart broken will affect her efficiency in the office."

Frank sighed in resignation, he knew Ken was stubborn but not blind. He always seems to get surprises when ever Ken is involved.

Ken was not in the mood to listen to Franks smart mouth,

He knew Frank wanted to get a reaction from him. Always trying to prove to him that he could love again and that he felt something far more than lust for Isabelle. But he knew he doesn't...

Or does he?...No! Of course not!

Frank at thirty-five was happily married with kids two boys.

He always tries to hook Ken up with any woman he considers wife material, unfortunately Isabelle fell to that category.

Ken knew he lusted after Isabelle, which man would'nt, but he was sure it was nothing more than lust. Though the fact about her dating another guy was not pleasing to his ears, he believes it still has something to do with the lust because even when he loved Anabelle he never felt the way he feels for Isabelle.

With Isabelle he was confused, his emotions have been all over the place since he met her.

"You know what? I think you love her."

"God!" Ken groaned out now regretting calling frank to meet up with him in the bar, the guy was insistent.

After Isabelle told him that she just couldn't make, that she had prior plans and couldn't cancel out on Saturday, he was livid, trying to control his anger. But Isabelle was not having it, she told him not to disturb her on weekends.

She was tired of him and he should please give her the space she deserved, and ended the call.

He had to call Frank, even though Frank, Tony and Ken have been best friends since childhood, Frank was the relationship type of guy.

Though he had his heart broken three times, he still fell in love again, he was that stupid.

Tony and Ken were more alike, not being in a relationship for more than a few months, three highest.

So when Kenneth fell in love with Anabelle everyone was happy, three years into the relationship Ken proposed and as usual Anabelle accepted the proposal on the condition that marriage must not be soon, she needed enough time to invite friends and plan the wedding.

It was distasterous when Ken caught Tony in bed with Anabelle four days to the wedding. After a year three months of planing the said wedding.

Isabelle was angry, why would her boss alway try to get on her nerves.

There is something about him that irks her, when it comes to him she seems very sensitive, she never really tried to impress someone as much as her boss, not even her boyfriend, but despite that, he still hates her and she was done.

If he was going to fire her he should go the hell ahead, she was ready to give in as much as she got.

She don't know why she's angry, the fact that he called or the other reason which she refused to think about trying to tell her self that he's just her boss and nothing more.

Standing up, Isabelle decided to do some clean up before getting ready for her date with Tony.

"Good morning " Isabelle greeted Nora her secretary, it was Monday and Isabelle was not yet ready to meet her boss, truth be told she contemplated on calling in sick but decided against it, since she started working in the company she has never missed a day of work, unless during her time of the month in which she is usually sick and can't do anything.

"Mr. Cole said you should come to his office immediately " Nora said trying to smile in encouragement but failing, she loved Isabelle and was happy to be her secretary, because she treats her as human and not her personal maid

But by the scowl on Ken's face, she was sure he was anything but happy.

Isabelle nodded and tried to return the smile but couldn't, she already regretted snapping at her boss, she even went as far as trying to call him and apologize but decided against it, she knew that if she ever allowed him to push her into coming to work on weekends, she will forever live to regret it.

She made up her mind to give as much as she gets.

Knocking on the door, Isabelle was anxious to see her boss.

"come in" Ken had said, the tone of his voice not what she expected.

Isabelle gently placed her hand on the door handle and pushed it open as if scared of the door, but what she saw surprised her.

Ken was sitting relaxed on his sit with a smile on his face.

Isabelle was surprised, she wondered if her boss was sick or something because he never smiles, not at her. The smile on his face completely caught her off guard, she stared at him with confusion clearly written on her face, did he drink? was he sick?

"why standing, come in and have a sit "

"Are you okay?" she asked a bit puzzled.

Gently she checked for fever, she heard somewhere that overly high fever tend to dis-stabilze the brain and sometimes affect human reasoning.

"I can come back, if you are not ready? "

she asked. Though her relationship with her boss was not smooth, she couldn't deny the fact that she doesn't hate him, even though she don't like him, she still cares for him as she would for every other human, so you can't blame her for asking if he's okay and checking if he's high on fever.

Ken expected a reaction from belle, but she surprised him, though he had to agree that the feel of her hands on his face was something he has fantasized about.

He lusted after her, he knew that. But seeing her seriously talking to a man, laughing and flirting was something that irked him, the first day he saw her, he wanted her but the fact that Marvin was wrapped round her like a cloth set him off for the rest of the meeting.

Discovering that she was seeing Tony did nothing to ease him, instead it threw him off the board.

Tony was his best friend, but their friendship ended the day he caught him with his tongue down Anabelle's throat in bed. He moved on , but promised never to fall in love again, he will just have to use women and drop.

He doesn't know why that thought don't set well again.

"it's ok" Ken answered.

"Sit"

Isabelle sat down though still confused.

"I know I have been rude to you, and I want to say that I'm sorry, "

Ken said completely serious.

Isabelle jaw dropped, was she dreaming or something, she never expected that her boss will apologize to her, not after she snapped at him on Saturday.

"I doubted you and I'm sorry for that " Ken said still looking serious.

"it's okay Sir," Isabelle said with a smile, "I'm also sorry for snapping at you on Saturday, I was really stressed out "

"it's OK, apologies accepted" Ken says with a smile on his face.

Then switching back to work mode he picked up a file from his desk and handed it over to Isabelle "I will need it before you leave this evening."

Isabelle jaw dropped for the second time that day, the file will need more time to be sorted. And it doesn't even concern her department.

"I know it should take more time

but I really need it today," Ken said with a pleading look.

"it's OK " Isabelle said still trying to comprehend the fact that her boss is been civil. If she had to work harder to get on his good side no problem.

Isabelle hurriedly left her office, she had a lunch date with her boyfriend and couldn't miss it for anything.

For one week plus, Isabelle has had to cancel her date with Tony, she is finally convinced that Ken was being nice to lure her into a false sense of security and friendship, because since that fateful Monday morning she has been working her ass off. Though he brought her lunch he also stucked her with too many files that she had to stay late nights.

Isabelle was about to enter the elevator when she was stopped by a voice she could recognize even in her dreams.

"going somewhere? "

Isabelle stiffened then groaned, she was not ready to face Ken that day because she had to meet with Tony that same day, he was still mad at her she knew it, she tried apologizing through phone but it was not working out, she wanted to surprise him with lunch.

Their relationship is barely two weeks and they have fought for two times in a row, and it was basically her fault.

Ken smiled to himself as he saw Isabelle stiffened, he couldn't be more happy about his plan, it was barely two weeks and the relationship was already in chaos.

He had to buy Frank a drink later for the wonderful advice.

The most joyful part of the plan was that he was gaining from all angle.

If he plays his card well, Isabelle will be single, though he still doesn't know why it excites him. And Tony broken if possible, talk about killing two birds with one stone.

He knew Tony well enough to know that he see Isabelle as a challenge because to Tony everything is a game.

Though he wanted Tony to feel what he felt, he doesn't want Isabelle hurt in the process.

And he could swear on his life that Tony will do worse than break her and that, he never wants.
