13 LAND OF SORROW'S BINDING We walk along a well-worn dirt path, a few drops of rain making it through the leaf canopy over our heads. Thunder rumbles in the distance, threatening heavy rain in the near future. A touch of chill is in the air, and we are walking in the red clay hills scattered about with displaced boulders. Cedar and hardwood cover most of the land, with the occasional Bodark tree interrupting the scene. Most of the ground beneath the trees is moss covered. There is a small feeling of desolation about the place we find ourselves in, a tension that might be similar to the sensation of panic that sparked the old legends of the effects of the God Pan. These sensations are amplified by the slight movements not quite seen from the corners of our eyes. We seem to be very close
