Sha’non drove the cart back to their room. Renrow stayed behind to help with the recovery. They were all sure there would be no one to rescue from the blast. Lucky jumped into the back of the cart when the others helped Mofa and Jinx back into the cart.
The ride back to the mayor’s building remained quiet. Everyone eyed Jinx on the trip back. Even Adriana observed him.
He tried to explain. “He was alive when I left, he was drinking and pulling out a water pipe, but I swear he was alive.” Jinx hated being blamed for the accident. He would need to think twice before accusing Adriana again without proof.
