8 Gaining A Wolf

The rest of the ride was silent. I pulled out my phone to distract myself whenn Drew came across the screen still calling and texting I didn’t bother reading them. If what everyone was saying is true, I don’t need him. I loved him, but knowing I have the better half of me made me feel more confident in myself. When we came to stop I look up to see a big 3 story rustic mansion. It was huge and beautifl. I was in aw, I looked at Caleb.

Me: ”You live here?!?”

Caleb looks a bit confused.

Caleb: ”Are the pack Houses from where you are not as well kept or something?”

Maggie: ”Caleb we have lots to discuss with your Alpha, where is he?”

Caleb: ”In his office come, I’ll show you.”

We all get out in line and follow Caleb to Elliot’s office. We get there and he motions for us to knock. Everyone looks at me so I step up. Turning I whisper to the group.

Me: ”Big babies.”

The girls snicker and I knock. Hearing a faint familer voice.

“Come in.”

I walk in and the girls hot on my heels, at least I know they aren’t going to leave me again.

Elliot:” Oh good you got here before dark. I have a plan and I’m going to need you two ladies help.”

I pause in my tracks at his so called greeting to us, I definatly didnt like how he was treating my friends. I am not sure if this was a wolf thing but I wasnt about it.

Me: “Well hello to you to Elliot. I’m fine ,Thanks and oh my girls? They are good to. We had a lovley luch and talk.”

He looked a little taken back from my comment loaded with sarcasm. I don’t know where it came from but my sassy mouth usually gets me in trouble. I wasn’t scared though, but when I looked behind me Maggie had a tight line on her lips trying to hold back her laugh and Cathy looked mortified at me. To my luck Elliot didn’t mind my sassy out come he looked half way amused and half offended.

Elliot: “Hello beautiful, hello ladies it is good to see you. I hope you all are ok from the excitement we have caused today. After tonight hopefully it will be better. We only have an hour or two so I will take Kimberly to our forest. Cathy you are welcome to join, and Maggie I have accommodation set up in the pack house for you if you chose to stay here.”

Maggie: ”I should come in cause she needs me and I’ll have to strip the rest of the magic off of her, it will be harder to shift with it lingering.”

Cathy: “I am not missing my best friends first shift!”

Suddenly the door bursts open, we all get startled jumping a little. It is a tall man, with a 5oclock shadow. Dark muddy eyes that match his choclate hair. He looked pail and he had eyes only on Elliot.

Stranger: “ Alpha I’m sorry to disturb you, but there is an issue outside with your bother and father.”

Elliot rolls his eyes. Walking over he takes my hand and turns to look deep in my eyes like he is trying to read me with out words.

Elliot: “I will be right back. Don’t leave this room, Tom and Jerry will be outside to make sure no one gets in to disturb you.”

With that he kisses my lips with a peck and heads out the door with the tall man following. I freeze not knowing what to do with his show of affection so openly. Cathy is the first to break my daze.

Cathy: “mhm family drama! and we havent been hear that long.”

Maggie: "We dont need to pry and thats the last thing we need involved in. Trust me when we get home there will be enough drama.. Between everyone."

Cathy: "Such a downer, Mag."

With a stressed and forced laugh Maggie looks at her with a blank and unamused expression. Cathy shrugs her shoulder and goes to plop on the couch like she belonged.

Cathy: ”Suite your self, I think it would be fun to watch a fight right now.”

I didn't know much about werewolves but I did know that in all movies or books there is violence, hunting and killed. I was raised hunting and being resourceful but straight violence wasn't something I thought I was ready for. I liked a good sparing as well as the next but to actualy kill someone.. That was a different ball game.

Me: "So is violence going to be everywhere now? or death..."

Cathy looks a bit taken by my question and slowly scoots to the end of the seat and folds her hands in front of her.

Cathy: “Violence isn’t always a bad thing. In packs like this they train fiercely with each other. To always protect and be on top of whatever happens. Most do kill rogues when they threaten the pack. And nudity is kinda widely acceptable. It’s how the life goes, being a werewolf you heal faster, your agility and speed is better, your stronger, and every sense you have gets heightened. You have a partner 24/7 who is different than you; older, wiser and helps you whether you know it or not. When you get your wolf it is something magical literally, you two will be a good duo I just feel it, so does Cora.”

Maggie: ”We will give you all the information you want, but how you act or use the information will be up to you. Your personality wont be affected with the shift like your body will. You're going run hotter than you are now, you will fill out differently in a few days. You will be hot.”

She winks at me trying to lighten the mood. That’s when we hear voices out side and Elliot walks back in .

I can’t help but stare as he comes in the room. He is so gorgeous. He come right up to me and hugs me as tight as possible with out hurting me, while resting his head in the crook of my neck, then he takes a big breath as though he had no air in his lungs. We stand like this for a second before he moves and looks at everyone in the room.

Elliot: “That was short and sweet, but I’m sorry I had to leave you. Tomorrow we will introduce you to everyone and get everything sorted out.”

Me: “Introduce me to everyone?? Why? Who does that include?”

Maggie: "Elliot with all due respect we cant just throw her into this role, she needs taught and time to process."

Cathy: “Elliot we are only here for a week we have lives to go back to.”

Maggie: ”Calm down. We can work around that later but right now, how about we deal with one problem at a time.”

Elliot: “I can already sense your Alpha dominance, and your scent has changed.”

Me: "What do I smell like? is it bad??"

Elliot: "You my dear Luna, smell like home made Ketchup in Grandmas kitchen mid August.. The best smell in the world"

I stand looking at Elliot at what he just said. Once he relizes what he has admited he turns a little pink in the cheeks. That a sight i could get used to. All of a sudden Cathy speaks up.

Cathy: ”When are we headed to the woods?”

Maggie: ”You three go and I’ll be behind you. I’m going to grab extra cloths and some food.”

Maggie is the first one out the door to rush and get everything. Cathy look at Elliot and I waiting for us to move.

Elliot: ”You can run with Kimberly tonight. I’ll tell the patrol to leave us be.”

Cathy screeches a happy high pitch scream. And runs over to hug him.

Cathy: ”Thank you. THANK YOU!! it has been so long, Cora is so excited to stretch her legs!”

Elliot smiles a small smile then turns to me and grabs my hand. There’s more sparks, like what is this! Is he part witch using magic on me?!?

Elliot leads the way out of the house as we step out, it was just getting dusk. Maggie met us out side the mansion with a bag of cloths for all of us and a sack of food. Elliot stopped abruptly with a dazed look in his eyes like they glazed over. I turn to Cathy and give her a questionable look.

Cathy: ”He is mind linking someone, he’ll be done in a second.”

Me: ”Mind link?? How do you do that. Is it anyone?! That would be so cool!”

Maggie: ”we will see tomorrow what happens if your link will be to who, but on the bright side I can mind link you with magic.”

Once Elliot seemed to come back to earth he had a look in his eye that made me question this whole thing. He had almost regret and sadness, and I didn’t know why.

Elliot: ”Ok we are going to go out to the meadow its where all first times shift, follow me. We should get there before the shift starts.”

With not another word we went on our way. It was a longer walk than expected, very dark and the crickets were quiet. When we got there the clouds had covered the sky. It wasn’t long until I was having the worst heat flash ever! Something in my stomach started churning and I couldn’t catch my breath. Elliot had me sit in the middle of the grass with his hand laid calming on my shoulder.

Elliot: ”ok breath that’s the most important part. Your already sweating.”

Cathy: ”Every bone in your body is going to break and snap. But I promise you will be ok.”

Me: " WhAt?! You faild to mention that part!"

Elliot: ”That’s a little harsh don’t you think?”

Cathy: "I am being honest with her that is what she deserves."

Maggie: "Arguing isn't going to do anything good right now. We need to be here for her, the moon has moments before it is at its peak. I'm going to start drawing the magic out of her."

Cathy: "Is that the best idea right now? She is going to have a lot going on as it is."

Maggie: "Yes I am positive this is safe."

With that what ever pleasure I was getting from Elliot being close to me was gone as Maggie came closer to me very slowly while chanting things. I started screaming from pains coming form every inch of my body. It felt like a fire was happening in me, that is when I felt the first bone snap. It was my wrist, though I had it broke before it still hurt like a son of a gun. My eyes wandered to Elliot who was very uncomfortable from my screams and agony. His face as scrunched and conflicted. When Maggie was done chanting she walked away and waved to Elliot. He came running over to me and held my hand as more things started to snap. A sickening sound I must say, knowing it was mine.

Hours pass and the breaking and fire pain finally stopped. I thought I had passed out because when I open my eyes I see Elliot next to me in awe. I try to stand but I notice I'm shorter and am on all fours. With out thinking I tried to say something and it didn’t come out a loud grumble/ growl did. Elliot has a big proud smile on his face, and he turns to Cathy and nods.

Cathy: "Don't worry it gets easier the more you do it. But you did awesome! Cora cant wait to meet you."

In blink of an eye she has changed into a wolf! She wasn't the size I was expecting but she wasn't small by no means. I turn to see Maggie all happy tears as she comes over to pet my head. She stares deep into my eyes while whispering some of her magic words, then I hear her in my head!

Maggie: "You look just like your mother."

My heart felt warm and whole hearing that. Then this strange but yet familiar voice came to me.

Wolf: "I am so happy to finally meet you"

I sat froze not knowing what to do or say,

Wolf: "It is alright, don't freak out on me. I can feel your fear and nervousness. I am Sioux, it is so nice to finally talk to you. "

Me: "Hello Sioux it is nice to meet you, I am Kimberly. Wow.. this is so weird, am I the only one who can hear you?"

Sioux: "Yes that is until we find our mate and they mark us."

With the word mate I turned to look at Elliot who was talking to Maggie. Sioux took over my body and started prancing around and went over to Elliot just to rub on him.

Me: "So Elliot is my mate?"

Sioux: "He is our mate him and his wolf. I will explain in time Kimberly, the Moon Goddess has spoken to me she helped our shift, and she will be speaking to you soon."

Maggie describes Sioux to me and she is exactly what I see in my head.

Sioux is huge and is white as snow, with black eyes. She has brown on two paws and a black one. She has Shepard ears, they stand straight up alert. She is magnificent.
