Miguel's POV.
“Let him go, you know that he is drunk, please, I promise he is not always like this.”
The plea of the drunk fool’s friend got to me.
The plan was not to draw attention to myself but I did more than that already.
“Do your worst!” The drunk male in front of me yelled.
Even from the way he pulled himself, the only reason why he was still standing was because I held him.
His legs had failed him,one small strike from me and we'd have a murder on our hands.
“Not today!” I spat as I threw him to the ground, “I have better things to do with my time than waste it on you.”
I turned to his friend who was by his side, “and next time, when you both decide to leave the house, I suggest you get a string leash, he might not be so lucky.” I said as I walked out the bar angrily.
This was the last straw, a horrible day I had and just when I thought I was going to find comfort some drunk guy comes along to ruin it.
My phone dinged and I got it out of my pocket, only then did I realise that I was soaking wet with beer.
“That bastard!” I cursed as I shook my phone furiously, the idea of the beer damaging my phone pissed me off and I fought against the urge to head back to that bar.
I felt for my gun, it was still in its place, he was lucky.
I unlocked my phone, it was a message from my father….at least that's what the first message read.
Another message dropped, this time around it was a picture.
I barely had time to open the picture when a call came in.
I recognised the number And rolled my eyes, it was my obnoxious brother, half brother.
“What is it Juan?” I asked.
“Relax, it's not like you to be this hostile.” He said.
First things first, Juan was not a friend, “can you be it with what you called me for?”
“Fine,” he sighed, “I am sure you got your father's message?”
“I would have, if you at least gave me time to read and go through it.”
“There's no need for that, you seem to have a track record for not keeping to your word and an even bigger record for not being able to comprehend written words. So I am going to be of help to you today,”
“The image and details sent to you by father happens to be your next target, and by all implications, your second and last chance to make a name for you in this family.”
“You've been a sorry excuse for a mafia, but that's not entirely your fault, father's moment of weakness with that wretch of a woman produced you and now the true mafia bloods are stuck being your fairy godparents.”
I was livid, Juan never missed a chance to rub my status in the mafia family in my face.
“Enough, I got the message already.” I fumed, “now would you like to tell me what I need to know?”
“Nothing much,” Juan answered, “all you need to know has been sent to you, but I can't overemphasize this, you have to kill him. He is a threat to our family. End the target and end him quickly. Don't give me an excuse to come after you, I would hate to kill you over something so simple.”
“Are you threatening me?” I asked.
“That depends on how you perceive it, I forgot one wouldn't call it a threat, more of a warning, a heads up.”
I clenched my fist, my chest heaving, “I think we've said enough to each other. Goodbye.”
“Goodbye brother!”
The line went dead, the ringing sound from the phone was a huge testament to that.
“Could this day get any worse?” I thought as I walked towards my bike.
I revved my engine and put on my helmet And in a matter of seconds,I had the wind stinging the open part of my neck.
“Welcome sire, I was almost afraid you would not return home tonight.” Pedro guardian and butler greeted.
I tossed him my jacket and hand gloves without a word as I made my way up the stairs.
“Oh, still in a horrible mood, perhaps you'd like this single malt whisky that I just got for you?”
The idea of how the drink calmed me, but I was already rude to him.
The least I could do was keep up with that front till the next day.
I barely settled in when he came knocking at the door.
“I will leave you to your thoughts and this Amazing brew.”
I waved, And he got the message to leave me alone.
I picked up my phone after having a shot of the whiskey which was wonderful just as Pedro said.
I scrolled through some videos on YouTube before I settled on opening my brother's text.
The picture took a while to download but when it did my mouth dropped to the floor.
This looked a lot like the drunk guy I encountered at the bar.
“What kind of sick trick is this?” I muttered, “there's no way in the world that this is real.”
I scrolled through a couple other pictures that Juan sent to me and they were all the same.
I caught a glimpse of his best friend, the one who pleaded for him in a couple photos so there was no way that this could be a mistake.
“Pedro.” I called.
Like lightning, Pedro was at my doorstep, “you called master?”
“I need you to do some digging on someone for me and I need answers now.”
“Sure sire.” Pedro replied confidently, “who is this person you seek?”
I handed him my phone, “this Human!”
Pedro took a glance at the picture And cleared his voice, “it's common knowledge who this is, especially amongst the family.”
I was taken by surprise as everyone seemed to know who this person was except me.
“Do you need help with this person? Is he bothering you?” Pedro continued.
I knew that Pedro would send me his head ok express delivery once I gave the Command
“Not yet,I just want to know about him.”
“His name is Alejandro, at least that's all he goes by. A pest in the family who has cost us a lot, especially with your brother Juan.”
“Juan claims that many of his failed missions are a result of This journalist investigating him, hence the threat he poses to the family.”
I smiled, this ought to be fun, “I see…” I said to Pedro.
“Prepare the guest room, if all goes well we might be having a guest by morning.”
