Alejandro's POV.
Miguel was a good actor, if you asked me I would tell you that he had a better chance out there in the movie industry than here in the Mafia.
What gave that away? The fact that he wanted me to have a bath in his bathroom.
I am surprised it played out this long without me figuring it out.
The night out with Samson where I miraculously met the fine specimen that turned out to be a mafia prince who wanted to kill me but is now asking me to be his roommate.
It was weird enough that I hadn't heard from Samson in days.
One minute he was kidnapping me and the next he was forcing me to have a bath.
“Hell nah” I muttered.
Nothing in the world could have prepared me for what I saw.
How was he going to force me to being a roommate with him without him knowing a thing or two about having a roommate?
The first thing being nudity.
My eyes refused to move after they fell on his beautiful body.
The sight of him was shocking, yet utterly magnificent. My gaze was snagged instantly, an involuntary, breath-stealing stop.
My eyes refused to move, fixated on the sculpted terrain before me. His chest was a breathtaking masterpiece, wide and powerfully defined, leading down to the most incredible abs—a perfect, chiseled six-pack that looked hewn from stone.
The muscles of his biceps and shoulders were taut and curved, hinting at raw, effortless strength.
Following the sharp V of his waistline, my attention traveled lower to his thighs, thick with muscle, powerful pillars that commanded attention.
“Goddamn!” I cursed under my now shaky breath.
Driven by an irresistible, stupid curiosity, I took an involuntary step closer, craning my neck just slightly, desperate to imprint every sharp line and curve of his body into my memory. But the moment was shattered by a sudden, terrifying shift. He moved—a subtle tilt of his head, a slight rotation of his massive shoulders—and the air around me turned ice cold.
I panicked.
I fumbled backward, diving instantly and silently behind the nearest cover. My heart hammered against my ribs, a chaotic drum solo in the silence.
It was too late. I knew it before I even dared to peek. The intense warmth I had been soaking up was replaced by the uncomfortable, undeniable sensation of being observed.
I squeezed my eyes shut, but I could feel his gaze on my hiding spot. When I finally cracked one eye open, there was no mistaking the look on his face: a slow, self-assured smirk, and a pair of knowing eyes fixed exactly where I was trying to disappear. He didn't just notice my staring; he'd been waiting for it?
I wasn't taking any chances, I was going to plead my case before something drastic happened.
“I didn't see anything.” I said amidst the running water, “I swear it, I saw nothing!”
He gave no response and I could only wait for the worse.
That bath was the most awkward bath I've had in my entire life and I should know, I have loved through a lot of awkward situations in my life but nothing beats this.
I got out of the shower to an empty room. I wasn't going to take the chance of him walking in on me naked so I kept the towel on my waist.
He had a nice dinner suit spread out on his bed with a note close.
I picked up the note and read it aloud. “ I picked this out for you. Wear it and be down in no time!”
I rolled my eyes with my hands reaching out for the suit laying on the bed. My hands took the texture of the soft fabric nicely.
It was what you'd expect from the son of a stinking rich man.
“Speaking of his father—” I said aloud as the towel slid down my waist, “why is he so keen on seeing me?”
I took in my reflection in the mirror with the shirt on and shook my head. Hell it was a dinner and not some job interview.
“What about first impressions?” I thought to myself.
“Knock knock. Master would like you to join him downstairs for dinner as soon as possible.”
I groaned in frustration. I was still indecisive on what I was going to wear while he kept nagging.
I Took one final look at his wardrobe and smiled— “I'll be there soon, I just need to put finishing touches to my dressing.”
………….
I got out the room and went straight out the door and into the halls.
There was one door, one way out right? Because I felt lost the moment I got down the stairs.
The halls stopped looking familiar as soon as I got down the stairs that led me to Miguel's room earlier.
I couldn't ask for help and this was not because I found it hard to. It was simply because there was no one around to ask for help.
The entire house was silent save the faint humming that came from the lights around the house.
I was going to have to settle with other senses if I was to find a way out.
After walking around in circles for what felt Like forever, I finally got a whiff of something in the air. It smelt like cooking.
I muttered a quick “thank God” as I went closer to the kitchen. The sound of spoons clashing with pans strengthened my relief.
“Now all I have to do is wait till they go to serve the food—”
“And you're sure he would consume this? I want no mistakes”
“It's my speciality, they all love this and to be on the safer side, I would add this his appetizer and the main dish.”
I hold my mouth with my hand as I listened closely to this conversation.
Another murder attempt. I tried to get a look at the faces but they were both covered by a shelf or something in the kitchen.
I couldn't let them know that I was here…
“I hope for your sake he does. If this doesn't go as planned, you would wish you consumed the poison yourself.”
“Yes sir.”
Sir, this means there was someone of authority doing the controlling. Now I wasn't really good at remembering voices, either that or this mister figure was really good as switching voices when dealing with his assassins.
I had to do something and the top thing in my list includes finding the dinning room and getting there before that food does.
One of the two men approached the door, I could tell as a result of his approaching footsteps.
“Well, hide?” I muttered to myself. This was not the place nor the time to freeze like a deer in front on headlights.
I safely hid in one direction while the man walked away in the other direction hurriedly. I didn't dare take a look to avoid being seen by anyone else.
Being Sure that it was safe enough to crawl out my hiding space, I heard the chef complaining. “Now the hard part’s done, itf time to find someone to serve them this death platter”
I went back to my position as the door swung open.
“Hey you there.”He called out
“Yes you, I am talking to you, come over here and help me serve this this to the boss. You know how much he hates being kept waiting.”
My heart beat doubled. Did he see me hide?
