Miguel's POV. “He's just going to mess things up.”I thought to myself. I knew I needed to take things up from here. I came up with that quick excuse and I felt Alejandro's head come in contact with my back, sending volts of electricity up my spine. “Mmfgh” I bit back the groan that threatened to escape my mouth. He stayed that way far longer than I expected, the looks Juan shot me didn't help my case either. It was a good thing that I knew how to keep a straight face regardless of the situation;a gift that was beginning to slip from my grasp since this trouble making journalist came my way. “Hmm” Juan hummed, I could feel my heart beat quicken. The once ventilated hall became airtight, my leather jacket seemed to claw at my throat. Every passing moment that Alejandro stays in the open puts him at risk of being discovered and that puts me at risk too. He had a purpose here, and he needs to be alive to fulfill them and surprisingly, keeping him alive seemed harder than wanting him dead. Juan continued, “whatever you want to do in your free time is entirely up to you. Clean up yourself, Father would need a report of the task assigned to you. You have twenty minutes” I waited till he was beyond earshot before summoning every will power I had left. “Are you trying to get us killed?” I asked. “Ummm hello?—” I knew I was supposed to listen to him, to keep my head in the conversation but I couldn't. His talking always found a way to infuriate me and I found other parts of him to tolerate. His hair for example. The way they were roughened up with a few strands sticks in front of his face. I was tempted to push it back so I could look into his fiery brown eyes. I tilted my head slightly, “they would catch the sun beautifully at their angle.” I thought. I blinked for a moment and realised that he was still speaking. “And the office? Really?” I said taking a step towards him. He took a step forward too. Oh the rush I felt at that moment! I wanted to take him, right here and now. The positions that I could have him right now while I stare into his eyes. This was beyond a casual s****l attraction. There was something his defiance did to me. I had no idea why he took a step towards me,but I knew what he did to me. He kept talking but I muted him out. I did not want to hear what he had to say but his lips and the way they moved— they looked soft and inviting. “What do you taste like.” I asked under my breath, dreading his response to that question while at the same time I wanted him to hear it. He made mention of something about our near death experience and that brought me back to reality. I did not even wait to hear what he wanted to say before I rushed to him and covered his lips. “Now I am certain that you're out to get us both into trouble.” I scolded, “What is wrong with you? Do you have a problem with keeping your lips sealed ?” He managed to free his mouth, in all honesty I let him, if i was being serious, he would have broken his neck by now. “I am a journalist, do the maths” This right here was why I always focused on everything else except his talking. He knew how to work my emotions. From the first night in the bar under those bright lights and deafening noise till now. He broke free from our bodily contact but my hands still gripped his wrist tightly. His brown eyes met mine and locked in with it, “I am the mafia,” I said, “do the maths”. Juan was clear with his message, I had twenty minutes to meet with father and I had wasted half of it by now. I went to my room; Alejandro just had to wait for a special invitation. “Come inside!” I yelled, “and close the door behind you!” I reluctantly pushed the red button in the shower that produces hot water and in a matter of seconds the bathroom air was filled with steam. I sighed softly as the warm water came in contact with my skin. I temporarily forgot about Alejandro. “s**t!” I cursed, rushing out the bathroom with a towel tied firmly on my torso. “You don't have a lot of time so you have to hurry and get cleaned up” I said to him. He didn't move a muscle, he just gulped and watched me like someone who has just come in contact with a ghost, “get on with it” I said snapping my fingers. “You're not suggesting that I use the same bathroom as you, are you?” “Isn't that obvious? Look, we are out of time and you need to get ready. My father does not like to be kept waiting and you will not do anything to get on his bad side today. Not on your first day with him. Alejandro scoffed as he turned around slowly, my guess was that he was observing the room or something. “Can you do your observations later? Right now I need you naked and in that bathroom now—” I squinted my eyes as those words escaped my lips. “Get naked?” I thought to myself, “did you just say you need him to get naked?” How I manage to get myself into these situations was one thing, but the way I amplified them was another thing entirely. “This has to be a joke, isn't it?” He was laughing, but this was one of those kind of laughter you gave when you were awfully serious about something “What— what are you on about?” I asked in disbelief. “This has got to be a joke.” He announced, this time, the smile had been replaced with a serious frown. “Where are the cameras?” He asked as he walked towards my wardrobe “Camera?” “This is one of those crazy shows where you get to navigate your way out of shitty situations—” Soft music filtered through the air, a major signal that dinner was almost ready. “Was that accident with Ron staged? Is he in on this?” “I do not have time for this,” I walked over to him grabbing his hands, “Have your bath and meet me downstairs, you better make it to the table before dinner for your sake.” I said as I pulled him towards the bathroom. He struggled all through the way, “Now you're forcing me to have a bath?” “Like you give me any choice,I can't believe I have to force a grown man to have a bath.” I pushed the shower curtains aside, it was easier to get him in there than the bathtub. “The least you can do is get me my own room at least.” I stopped to listen to him for a minute. He was right. He deserved his own space here, I could grant him that, but it was easier to keep us both safe if he was closer to me at all times. I tried to convince myself that this had anything to do with the raging desire that burned inside me. “I'm sorry but you'd be staying here with me.” I said. He groaned and made to free himself from my grip slipping in the process. I blinked and the next moment I could feel his heart beat against my chest and our lips were only a few inches away from each other. “Get off me!” I barked. He shifted immediately while I rushed out of the bathroom and with good reason too. This towel was not as sturdy as the leather pants I had on earlier. They did not do a good job at hiding an erection, besides the towel was already getting loose due to Alejandro's resistance to getting a bath. Luckily, I was fast enough to get away from him before the towel slipped to the floor. I bent to pick it up when I caught sight of him. His two beady eyes were focused, frozen, fixated on me. There I was, naked with a b***r and alone with the man that I was supposed to kill who also became the subject of my desires. This wasn't a normal Tuesday. I opened my mouth to explain this awkward situation to him but he wasn't having any of it as he rushed back behind the curtains. “I didn't see anything. I swear it, I saw nothing!”
