chapter 2 DARK SILVER COLLEGE Dark Silver College is truly a beacon of excellence among educational institutions. Its reputation shines brightly across California, especially in Nile City. The college's modern architecture, with its glowing marble walls and intricate design, is a source of inspiration for many other schools. Notably, within the college, there are four standout individuals. Sinclair Lewis leads the pack with his popularity, followed by his best friends, Diego Brown and Carson Wentz. The fourth notable person is Levi Donaldson, who stands apart as their rival, often leading to spirited interactions. As a sleek Mercedes-Benz rolled into the school's parking lot, Sinclair, with his companions, exited the car. His charismatic presence caught the attention of many female students, who eagerly gathered around, snapping photos. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as Sinclair and his friends made their way to the lecture hall. 🔹Department of Physiology🔹 The duo settled in the back of the class, engaged in conversation. Now in their second year, all three are studying physiology. "Where's your friend, Sinclair?" Diego asked, casually chewing gum. "Probably having a quick chat in the restroom; she thinks Sinclair doesn’t know about her little secrets," Carson replied with a grin. "Don't start; I'm not involved with her. It's just fun, and she's free to do as she pleases," Sinclair responded with a shrug. "This place feels a bit dull; it's been a while since we had any real excitement, don't you think?" Carson remarked, making Diego chuckle. "Don't worry, the excitement will kick in once Levi shows up. I'm ready for a face-off," Diego declared eagerly. Sinclair was about to respond when Azura joined them, her smile lighting up the room. "Hey there, darling!" she greeted, settling onto Sinclair's lap. Diego rolled his eyes, clearly not thrilled by her presence. "I missed you so much; you didn’t even call," she pouted, attempting to kiss him, but he turned his head away. "Please, Azura, I'll call when I need to," he muttered, making her scoff. "Fine, I'll hold back my affection from now on, you heartless person!" she retorted, leaving in a huff. "She'll come running back when you call," Diego chuckled. Sinclair rolled his eyes, lighting a cigarette and taking a drag. "Don't do that here, Sinclair," Carson advised, rolling his eyes. "Then find somewhere else if it bothers you," Sinclair replied. Diego just chuckled, engrossed in his phone. Meanwhile, Ixora had just finished cleaning the entire house and was drenched in sweat. Exhausted and hungry, she dared not voice her condition, fearing the consequences. Her vision blurred as she leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. "What are you doing here?" Mr. Rogers asked, startling Ixora. Mr. Rogers, her father, doesn't treat her like his daughter. "Have you finished the cleaning?" he asked gruffly. "Yes, father," she mumbled, and he smirked, approaching her. "Haven't I told you not to call me that?" he demanded, and she swallowed nervously. "I'm sorry, sir; it slipped out," she replied. He chuckled menacingly before facing front again. "It seems I haven't told you, but I sold you out," he said, and she creased her brows in confusion. "Huh?" She mumbled, and he turned to face her. "I believe you're not deaf," he said, and she swallowed. "A car will be here in a few minutes, pack your things and get ready to leave," he instructed, walking away without further explanation. Ixora was left to ponder his words, feeling a trickle of sweat down her forehead. He's serious about what he said, but she doesn't understand it one bit. Sold her? To whom? And why? Has she not been doing everything to please them, so what's going on? She thought. Hesitatingly, she packed her faded clothes into a bag and picked up Molly. Molly is her teddy bear, the only gift she ever received from a special someone. After she packed, she went outside, and true to her father's words, a black BMW was waiting with a guard standing outside. He simply opened the door to the car, leaving no room for discussion. She slipped in quietly, watching the driver as he started the engine and drove off. "Please, where are you taking me?" she asked, but the guard ignored her. "Please tell me; I really don't understand what's happening. My dad said he's selling me out. What does that mean?" she implored, but the guard remained silent, and she felt her chest tighten. What if she's going there to get hurt? What in the world is going on? She just woke up this morning, and now she's hearing she's been sold out? The Lewis Estate The car stopped, and Ixora couldn’t help but gasp at the grandeur of the place. It exuded wealth and luxury, leaving Ixora awestruck
