ALPHA'S DECISION
Deep in the woods, you were found, lying on the riverbank, shivering and cold, covered in mud and leaves, with eyes the color of the night sky. Your hair was matted and tangled, and you barely had anything cloth on you as everything was torn to shreds. It was clear that you had been through a terrible ordeal, but how you had ended up here, no one knew.
Jillian, carried the child to Ama's home, a cozy cottage nestled in the woods. Ama opened the door and greeted them with a warm smile. She led them inside, and immediately took note of the child's appearance. She studied the child's eyes, noting the unusual color, and then looked to Jillian.
"I have never seen eyes like these," she said, her voice gentle and curious. "It is quite remarkable."
Jillian nodded in agreement.
"I found her at the river bank, we must bring her to the Alpha before helping her".
"Who is Jillian?"
I asked a bit confused at what Ama was saying
"Jillian is the birthing specialist that found you and brought you to my home"
Ama added and continued
"Why is the color of her eyes different" , "What's wrong with her " , "why is she exuding a different aura" .
The villagers murmured as i approached the Alpha's home with you in my arms
The Alpha was a wise and powerful leader even at a young age, he was feared by both his friends and rivals because of his aura.
"Let me get something straight" I Interrupted
"When you said a young age, did you mean, Alex?", I asked looking more confused
"Alex was the Alpha that accepted you despite the rumors that spread that you were a danger to Luxoria"
Jillian hesitated for a moment, but then knocked on the door. After a few moments, the door creaked open, and the Alpha stood before them. He looked down at the child in Jillian's arms, his brow furrowed in thought.
"What have you brought to me?" he asked, his voice deep and resonant.
Jillian swallowed nervously, but spoke up. "This child was found by the river. I don't know who she is or where she came from"
Jillian said with a shaky voice, afraid that the Alpha will banish her for bringing such a strange child into Luxoria
It was then that Ama came in, the Alpha indicated to Ama to follow him
The young Alpha sat at his desk, deep in thought, while his aunt Ama paced the room, trying to convince him
. "Please, my dear Alpha," she pleaded, "this child is not to be feared. There is something special about her, I can feel it in my bones."
The Alpha looked up from his desk, his expression skeptical.
"Aunt Ama, I respect your wisdom and experience, but I do not know if I can trust this child. She is different, and that difference makes me wary."
"I understand your concern, Alpha, but please, consider what she might bring to our village. She could be a blessing in disguise, a gift from the gods. Surely, we should at least give her a chance?" Ama's voice was firm, but kind, as she stood before her nephew.
The young Alpha considered her words carefully. "Perhaps you are right, aunt," he said at last. "But we must still be cautious. I will allow the child to stay, but we must watch her closely. If she proves to be a threat, we will have to take action."
Ama smiled, relieved. "I am glad you have agreed to give her a chance"
She said and with that she went outside to join the others to wait for the Alpha's decision
The Alpha regarded the child thoughtfully, his gaze intense
. "Bring her inside," he said, and Jillian did as he asked
. They all entered the large, dimly lit room, and the Alpha indicated for them to sit. He studied the child, and then spoke again.
"I sense something unusual about this child, something powerful. But I need to know more before we can take her in"
The young Alpha said to the villagers that had followed Ama and Jillian to his home with the child
"I have decided to give her a chance to prove herself, despite these concerns. She will be allowed to stay with us, on the condition that she is closely monitored and does not cause any trouble."
The villagers murmured among themselves, some expressing relief and others still skeptical. One woman, in particular, stepped forward to address the Alpha.
"What if she proves to be dangerous, as some have suggested?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.
"If the child proves to be a danger to our village, then we will take action," the young Alpha replied, his tone leaving no room for argument
. "But until then, we must give her the benefit of the doubt. She is just a child, after all, and we must not judge her for things that she has not yet done."
The woman nodded slowly, but it was clear that she still had her doubts. "I just hope that you are not making a mistake, Alpha," she said, her tone heavy with concern. "The safety of our village is our top priority."
The Alpha nodded in understanding.
"I understand your concerns, and I share them. But I believe that the best way to ensure the safety of our village is to show kindness and compassion, rather than fear and suspicion. If we treat this child with respect and give her a chance to prove herself, I believe we will all be better off in the end."
The woman's expression softened, and she nodded again. "You are wise beyond your years, Alpha," she said, a hint of pride in her voice. "I will trust your judgment on this matter."
Ama smiled at the exchange, and the other villagers began to disperse to their various directions, their worries soothed by the Alpha's words. As they left, Ama turned to the young Alpha.
"I am proud of the way you handled that situation," she said. "You showed great compassion and understanding, qualities that will make you a great leader one day." The young Alpha blushed, embarrassed by the praise
. "I only did what I thought was right, aunt. I am still learning how to lead our village, and I have much to learn from you."
Ama laughed softly. "You flatter me, child. But I am glad to see that you are willing"
And without much hesitation she turned to get the child from the Alpha
"I shall call her Melissa", She said as she turned to take her leave
Despite the Alpha's assurances, there were still some villagers who were not convinced that the child was not a threat. They continued to whisper behind her back, casting suspicious glances her way as she grew, but they knew better than to challenge the Alpha's decision, and so they kept their doubts to themselves.
"I can't believe, that there was such a mishap because I was brought into the world, I said to Ama with a treat eye.
"It's ok child, I will not give up on you, cheer up, you have both I and the Alpha on your side"
" But what if the Alpha turns his back on me someday, I asked afraid that I will be left alone as I suspected that Ama was close to dying
"That will never happen, dear child," Ama said, taking my hand in hers. "The Alpha has made a commitment to you, and he is a man of his word. He will not abandon you, I promise you that."
Ama's words were comforting, but I still felt a deep sense of foreboding.
"I just can't shake the feeling that something terrible is going to happen," I said, my voice trembling. "I don't know why, but I feel like the village is in danger, and that it has something to do with me."
Ama sighed, and her expression turned grave
. "You must not let your fears and doubts consume you, child," she said, her voice gentle but firm. "I know that you are feeling vulnerable and unsure of yourself, but you must not give in to those feelings. You must stay strong and hold on to hope. The future is uncertain, but we can face it together. You are not alone."
I nodded, trying to take comfort in Ama's words.
. "I will try, but it's not easy," I admitted. "What if the villagers turn against me, no matter what the Alpha says?"
"Then you must have faith in yourself, child," Ama said, her eyes full of conviction.
"You must be true to yourself and know that you are not to blame for the way others treat you. Their behavior is a reflection of their own fears and insecurities, not of anything you have done. As long as you hold on to your own sense of worth, nothing they say or do can harm you."
I took a deep breath and nodded, feeling a small spark of hope flicker within me.
"Thank you, Ama," I said, reaching out to hug her. "I will try to remember what you've...
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and the Alpha's voice rang out.
"Ama, I need to speak with Melissa," he said, his tone urgent.
Ama and I exchanged a look, and she nodded, gesturing for me to answer the door. I took a deep breath and opened the door, finding the Alpha standing there, his expression grave. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low.
