Chapter 2: The Assistant's Secret
Emily Lee typed away on her computer, her mind focused on the task at hand. As Alexander's executive assistant, she was responsible for managing his schedule, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence. But little did anyone know, Emily had a secret passion - writing.
"Hey, Emily, how's it going?" asked Karen, the HR manager, stopping by Emily's desk.
"It's going, Karen. Just trying to keep up with Alexander's schedule," Emily replied with a laugh.
"I feel you," Karen said. "He's a demanding boss, but he's fair. Hey, have you met the new marketing guy, Jack?"
"No, I haven't," Emily said. "What's he like?"
"Charming, but a bit arrogant," Karen whispered. "Thinks he knows it all just because he came from a big agency."
Just then, Alexander's voice interrupted their conversation. "Emily, can you come in here for a moment?"
Emily saved her work and stood, smoothing her dress. "I'll catch up with you later, Karen."
As she walked into Alexander's office, she saw him talking to Jack, the new marketing guy. Alexander introduced them, and Jack flashed a charming smile.
"Ah, Emily, I need you to research some potential...business partners," Alexander said, his eyes sparkling with intensity. "Discreetly, of course."
"Of course, Alexander," Emily replied. "I'll get right on it."
As she left Alexander's office, Jack caught up with her. "Hey, Emily, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?" Emily replied.
"What's Alexander's deal?" Jack asked. "He seems really intense."
"That's just Alexander," Emily said with a smile. "He's passionate about his work."
"Well, I hope I can keep up," Jack said, chuckling.
Emily smiled and returned to her desk, wondering what Alexander's request would entail.
It felt unusual , because Alex wasn't the type to do things discreetly , he was more of the straight forward type .
