Time was running out. Before long, the zombie virus would spread through the air outside. Anyone who failed to hide in time would become part of the first wave of zombies. I had nowhere to go, so I took my three cats and hid inside the shelter's guardhouse. After the countdown began, no guard had reported for duty. There were still plenty of ready-to-eat meals that the security guard had prepared. More importantly, there was a fully stocked toolbox inside, with hammers, axes, and everything else I might need.
