Knox's POV
“Then she’ll have to catch me first.”
I mutter the words under my breath, feeling the weight of them settle in the air between us. Nolan sighs, Finn swears softly, but they don’t argue — because they know I’ve made up my mind. Once I’ve decided something, there’s no walking me back.
“I’ll go check up on Reese,” I add, slipping my hands into my jacket pocket. “Cole asked me to, and… Jade is suspicious. I want to make sure she’s okay.”
Finn and Nolan exchange a look, that silent brother language we’ve all mastered. Then Nolan nods. “We’ll join you.”
We leave the empty corridor, footsteps echoing off the floor as we head toward the residential wing of the facility — the part reserved for the players and staff during long training seasons. The air feels colder here, quieter. T
