Chapter 38. Overdose
"I'm so sorry," she said, stepping up to him.
He hugged her, then released her.
"Go tell Ettea we borrowed her dragon," he said. "I have to go pee and talk to a doctor about his raisins."
Tempura nodded with a brief smile. She knew he was trying to be humorous.
Ettea wasn't in the Great Room, but answered when Tempura knocked on her room door.
"Hi, Tempura. Did the girls get out?" Ettea said.
"Yes. I need to let you know we borrowed Worna on a brief mission," she said, hoping it was a brief mission.
"No problem," Ettea said. "She is yours to use as needed."
"Thanks, Ettea."
"No, thank you. I think the arrival of Chase changed everything. You saved him."
Tempura nodded.
"Yes, everything has changed. I hope it is for the better."
She left the room to retur
