It's been two days since that incident.
Mom no longer talked to me like before. She now kept herself silent around me, but her eyes never left me.
When it's time to eat, she won't tell me to come to the dining room and join her. This time around, I'm the one who had to take note of the time and arrive at the dining room myself.
We would eat silently like we don't know each other.
She's just so mad at me over what happened.
Here I was at the window like always, staring out to the road, seeing passers by looking so happy, walking freely without anyone holding them back.
Just like what Clara and the others said, I'm indeed a prisoner in my own home.
In these two days that passed, I noticed that s new thought has taken over the boredom that had been with me for years.
That werewolf. After that night, I couldn't sleep without thinking about it. It has become part of my dreams.
Whenever I stare out through the window, staring at the tall trees of the forest ahead, it's like I could see it looking back at me.
At that word he called me, Mate...
Up until now I don't know what it means.
Why did that werewolf call me its mate?
Just then, I heard the sound of the door opening. That got me leaving my spot and heading for the living room.
There I met Mom stepping in with some groceries in her arm.
I decided to help her out with it, and luckily, she allowed dme to help her out with it.
"Get me a glass of water, " Mother requested.
I didn't hesitate to go into the kitchen to get it for her.
But looking at her, it seems she's better than before.
I returned back with the glass of water and gave it to Mom. She gently gulped it down, while I watched, with my mind almost lost.
"Should I? " I pondered in my mind.
My heart pushed me and I ended up voicing out to Mom.
"Mom, please, tell me what Mate means, " I requested.
Mom paused l, dropping her eyes on me.
Seems I've sparked her anger bounce again.
"Sophia, don't bring that up again. I'm trying to be calm here, so don't get on my nerves " she warned me.
But my curiosity won't let it be.
"I really want to know what it means, Mom. I can tell you know the meaning, but you don't want to tell me anything."
"Sophia!" She raised her voice, silencing me at once.
"I am trying to forget what happened that day and put my anger aside, but I can see that you don't want that, " She said, getting angry.
"It's nothing like that Mom. I'm just..."
"I don't want to hear how hungry you are for that meaning. You don't need to know what it means, " She said.
I lowered my head down, knowing that I won't be getting my answer with this mood Mom's in.
"This is all of Clara's fault. It's a good thing I went over to her house and spoke to her parents."
"What? " I exclaimed on hearing what Mom just said.
She went over to Clara's home?
Goodness! She's in trouble.
"I saw her that day at the market and I'm sure she persuaded you into coming to that stupid forest party. She is a bad influence and her parents need to put her straight."
"Mom, you didn't have to do that. "
"Yes I had to. Clara is a bad influence. It's because of her that you're speaking ill to your mother, asking stupid questions about a word that doesn't concern you, " She said, walking past me.
"I no longer want to hear that word from you Sophia. Let this be the first and last time you'll talk about it. I want it to end," She said, walking away.
Hurt, that's how I felt towards my mother's words. Worst of all, she has gotten Clara into trouble. I wonder how Clara would be feeling by now.
"I know she left me that night when that werewolf attacked, but... She was just trying to help. Goodness! " I rubbed my face unhappily.
This is just so bad.
Night finally came. After having dinner, I went over to my room to be alone and get set for bed.
Mom followed me after I arrived in my room. She stood at the door, looking at me as I got into bed.
I thought she was here to apologize over her behavior, but I was wrong.
"From now on I'll be locking your door. I will be the one to open it when I want to. Don't want you leaving this house again " She said, shutting the door closed.
I could hear the sound of keys clicking before Mom's footsteps came in. She has locked me up.
I felt frustrated that I just laid down with sadness all over me.
"Two months is long. It's just so long, " I sighed, covering my face and wishing the time could just fly by.
I blinked my eyes and soon dozed off.
"Where are you? "
"Who's that? " I woke up from my sleep with my eyes hovering around the room. But there's no one here.
"Was I dreaming?" I asked, wondering.
But I wasn't...
"Come to me. " I heard the voice again.
This is no dream, I can hear the voice. But who's calling me?
I got out of bed looking for the voice calling me, but who?
It can't be Mom. If she's the one, she would have stepped into the room to talk to me.
Is someone outside?
Curious to find who is calling me, I walked up to the window and opened it.
Just then...
"Come to me."
The wind blew right at me with the voice echoing into my ears louder than before.
"It's from outside," I said, realizing it.
I stared out to the forest ahead feeling something strong calling out to me.
My heart began pounding with curiosity. It's like someone is waiting for me, calling out my name in the... Forest.
"Where are you? " The voice sang to me, sending a beautiful feeling into my heart.
I have to go. I need to see who is calling me.
"But Mom ..." I thought about her warning.
"She will ground me for two years and I won't be able to step out anymore. But..." I looked at the trees in the dark night.
After hearing the call, I pushed Mom's warning aside and decided to follow this voice calling me.
Desperate, I snuck out through the window carefully, making sure I don't make a sound to get Mom's attention.
Once I felt my feet touching the ground, I felt a strong connection pulling me to the forest.
My heart glowed when I turned back to look at the forest ahead.
"Come to me, " I heard softly.
With my mind up, I ran away from my home, heading for the forest to find this voice calling me.
I could feel the connection getting stronger by the minute. The more I drew near the more my heart glowed and the wind blew magnificently.
Soon, I arrived at the same spot where the forest party was held the other night.
Everywhere came quiet with the moonlight shining down on me.
I could no longer hear the voice but the connection... It's stronger than before.
It's around me, but where?
Just then...
"You're here? " I heard a deep voice from behind.
I felt my heart skip, sending my feet turning around next. Only to see that same werewolf from that might, standing behind me.
It's back.
