Riveria started packing some of the items on what was now her old office in boxes so that when it was time to leave it would be more easier 

She put in all that was required as she then remembered her boyfriend Robert, 'i should probably call him, we could celebrate the promotion together'

Riveria tried Robert's line but it wasn't going, she tried it again… The same thing

'would just reach his place later this evening then' she mentally noted as she looked around her soon to be old office

Her new would be a glass wall, and she would have her name on the door, this made Riveria smile as this was her entering one of the key positions in the organization

There wasn't much work to be done today as this was a day given off to her as she was in a celebration moood

She went down to the car park and drove off her Toyota venza off the building and went straight back to her apartment

The valet was friendly as usual as she gave him a tip after leaving the car with him

Immediately Riveria got upstairs into her apartment, she dialed her parents to tell them the news about her promotion

They were happy for her, but made complaints about her not making enough time for family

Riveria apologize and promise to make it up to them

It was getting towards the evening and Riveria north decided to go see her boyfriend Robert in his apartment

Decided not to take her Toyota car with her as they would just his if they were to go anywhere

She got on a taxi using her transport app and headed to the restaurant to pickup some packaged meal for herself and another for Robert

That didn't take long as she continued her journey to her boyfriend Robert apartment

Getting there she felt relieved as she would now be in the comfort of her lover

Riveria pressed the doorbell as she waited for her handsome young Robert to come open up for her

He came out and a bright smile went over her face, finally 

But that smile did not last of Riveria face as she saw that Robert wasn't sharing her mood bit of the opposite

"What are you doing here" he asked her plainly without even opening the door for her to come in 

This immediately changed the mood of Riveria north, he talked in such a tone that it may seem like they did not know eachother to a nearby listener

"Why are you being this way Robert, I came to see you, I came to see you.and you are acting like am at a wrong address" Riveria said as emotions were trying to slowly take over her

'This wasn't happening' Riveria thought, 'why is my Robert behaving this way to me'

"So why are you here" Robert asked Riveria again ignoring how she find this or how she would be feeling right now

"Am sure there must be a reason you came here today as you are supposed to be working on some project or the like, or don't tell me you got fired?"

"No Robert, I actually got promoted to the position of President of the California branch of the company, and I came here so we could both celebrate my promotion" Riveria said in desperation

"Oh that's great, am happy for you Riveria, you were always meant to go very far in your line of work as that has always been your priority"

"Your happy for me, I thought we are a us, I know I haven't been making out time for us to be together, but you know how demanding my job can be"

"But I promise to make it up to you Robert, o really do"

"Riveria I have tried my best, I have always made time for you even if I too have a stressful job, I do make out time for you because you were important to me"

"But all you have done was to always cut off our date after I have gone through the stress of preparation and setting things up, my time is also important so you know" Robert said

"I will make it all up to you Robert I promise i will" Riveria pleaded as she didn't know where the conversation was heading to, he haven't even let her come in

Riveria have always held her job and career as her top priority, above every human including herself ever since leaving college

Now that laser like focus on her on work life have brought about a bad relationship and so many lost friendship

She didn't want to lose Robert too, tho her time was always tied up so they did not spend much time together, having him there as a boyfriend was a big relief to her, now he was about to be gone from her life

"It's too late now Riveria, we can't continue like this anymore, it's best we go our separate ways" Robert said finally as tears were about to drop from Riveria eyes

"No Robert, you can't do this to me, I love…." Riveria suddenly paused as she saw someone come from behind Robert to his side

"Who is she?, You guys voice was so loud that it woke me up" the girl who just came out spoke

"Sorry babe, don't worry about her, she's just a friend, she would soon be on her way now" Robert said to his female friend that had just come out from the apartment in her underwear as Robert held her close and kissed her

This shattered Riveria north heart into a thousand pieces, 'what in the world' was only what her mind could grasp

She couldn't hold her self among from this betrayal, she tried as she mustered all her efforts to speak 

"So it's because of this girl that you are breaking up with me?" Riveria asked Robert

"She doesn't have anything to do with our breakup, have been planning on tell you that we could no longer be together, I haven't just yet gotten the chance until now"

"What are you guys talking about Roberto?" The girl asked him

"Nothing babe just go back inside am coming in a minute" Robert said to the girl as she heads back into the apartment

"We are over Riveria, I think this is clear enough message" Robert said as he went back inside, closing the door behind him

Riveria couldn't hold herself as her tears she had held so long started a free fall unceasingly

 She didn't even come along with her car where she could have stayed to cry her heart out

Riveria needed a drink, and a supper hot and expensive one, something that was sure not to fail her as years rolled down her eyes

She have just got heartbroken and needed a way to forget this experience for the day, looking at her phone she requested for a cab

Within minutes a cab arrives, she cleans the tears off her face as she opens the door and fell into it's chair

"Where to Madam?" The can driver asked

"Take me to the most expensive bar in town"
