Chapter 6: Jealousy and Protection

253 Words
The next morning was hell. Ayesha was having breakfast in the dining hall when Sana came in. "Oh, the maid is eating with us?" Sana said sweetly. "How cute." Ayesha ignored her and kept eating. Sana walked closer and "accidentally" spilled hot coffee on Ayesha's hand. "Ahh!" Ayesha cried out. Her hand turned red. "Oops, sorry," Sana smiled. "So clumsy of me." Before Ayesha could say anything, a strong hand grabbed her wrist. Zain. He had seen everything from the stairs. He checked her burn. His face was furious. "Get the first aid kit. Now," he ordered a guard. Then he turned to Sana. His voice was ice. "What did you do?" "I did nothing, Zain. She—" "Don't lie to me," Zain cut her off. "I have cameras everywhere." Sana went pale. Zain picked up Ayesha's hand and gently applied cream to the burn. His touch was careful. Nothing like the cold Mafia King. "Does it hurt?" he asked Ayesha quietly. Ayesha shook her head. "N-no..." Zain stood up and looked at Sana. "Pack your bags. You're leaving my house today." "Zain, please! I love you!" Sana begged. "I don't care," Zain said. "No one touches what's mine." What's mine. Those 2 words hit Ayesha harder than the coffee. That night, a guard left a box outside Ayesha's door. Inside was a new dress. And a small tube of burn cream. No note. But she knew who sent it. The Mafia King was protecting her. And Sana was never coming back.
