Mason             “Get over here.” I pat the small space beside me, feeling a tinge bad that she’ll be forced to get comfortable squeezed in between my less damaged side and the cold metal rail of the bed. It is easy to dismiss in comparison with the overwhelming need to not let her go.               At least not yet. Not after everything that’s happened and everything that’s yet to be discussed in what I can only assume will be a heated battle of wills. There’s nothing appealing to starting a fight at the moment, no matter how much I need her to tell me what she’s been doing and plead with her to stop.
