I think I dozed off for a while...but then I jerked awake when we pulled up in front of this massive gate.
The gate slowly opened, and we rode into this huge, massive mini estate.
There were Four buildings in the place altogether, and each of them looked heavenly.
The place had flowers and gardens all around it.
Then we drove into one of the houses and alighted.
I stared at the house in shock.
The down part was completely glass... everything.
It was a duplex, and it looked extraordinary.
"Welcome home", James said, smiling, and he helped me with my dress as we walked into the building.
I walked inside and observed the place.
Everything was either white, grey, or gold.
He had a nice taste of fashion and the furniture and lighting looked expensive.
I took my time to admire the beauty of this place...it was heavenly.
Are you sure a heatless Mafia boss lives here?
Then, a middle-aged woman appeared from one of the doors.
"Hello Mrs Williams, this is Amber's new wife", James said.
"Oh, hello, you're so beautiful, I'm Mrs. Williams, and I'm the housekeeper; I'm glad you're here, at least finally a female I could gossip with," she said, and I giggled a little.
I smiled
"I'll leave you two tonight. Please make her comfortable. I'm really tired; it was like I was the one getting married today", he said, walking out of the house.
"Now come on, dear, let me show you your room", she said, helping me with the wedding dress as we moved up the glass stairs.
Bloody rich billionaire!!
We then arrived and she led me into a room and switched the lights on.
.I admired the room.
It was just a normal room with white paint, a bed, a bathroom, and a closet.
"So I just prepared a bubble bath for you in the bathroom, enjoy yourself; when you're done, you can come back and have something to eat; please feel free; you're at home."
You're at home.
Those words floated in my head again.
So this is going to be my new home?
I was seriously going to spend the rest of my life here?
Never!
Then she left.
I took off my wedding dress and tossed it in the bin.
I remember one of my friends telling me about how fun her wedding day was and how glorious her wedding night was.
And then this was me... alone...
All by myself on my wedding night.
What exactly was I thinking?
Just because of protection, I'll sell myself to a man that gives no f**k about me.
I sighed
I don't want to be this person, honestly.... this is not me...if he wants to treat me like trash, then I'll return the energy.
I don't care who he is... I'm going to treat him like every other man in the world.
I'm not afraid of him.
* * * * * *
I can't even remember when I fell asleep, but I remember taking a long bath before wearing a robe and then climbing onto my bed.
But by the time I woke up the next morning, I had received 30 missed calls from Samantha.
I laughed and decided to video call her as I walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
She picked up the call.
"Hey, Sam," I said, grabbing an electric toothbrush.
"Baby girl, how's your stay there? Oh my god, babe, you're glowing. Just one night and you're already looking like a princess", she shrieked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up Sam, geez...I just took a bath. Right now, I look like something that was crushed in the dream", I mumbled, cleaning my mouth.
"Oh my god, oh c'mon, show me around the house or something; I wanna see the full view," she said excitedly.
I rolled my eyes and walked out of the bathroom into my room.
"This is my room", I said showing her the place.
"Looks so plain", she said.
"I know, don't worry, give me a week, and I'll turn this place into an art studio," I said smiling.
Then I opened the door and the smell of pancakes hit my nose.
Remind me to go find the kitchen after showing Sam around.
All through the tour, Sam kept squealing and shouting and saying I was so lucky, but I wasn't impressed one bit.
Then I found a small fountain right behind the house; it was covered with twigs and roots; I decided to sit down there.
"So when do you think he's coming back? ", she asked.
"I doubt he'll come back; he'll just fake more excuses to be anywhere far from me; I'll do the same, too, if I were smarter earlier," I said.
"So do you think he's as evil as everyone is talking about?", she asked.
I scoffed.
"I don't care what people say about him. honestly, what is he going to do to me that I haven't gone through, actually.." I said.
"And he forgot your wedding and cut the call on you; that is so rude," she said.
"He's obviously a proud, arrogant bastard... what else would be that definition? God, I just hate men in general!" I said, pissed.
"That's a mean way to describe someone you'll be spending the rest of your life with," a deep, cocky British accent said behind me.
I jumped and looked behind me.
There was a man who was way taller than I was; he wore a navy blue button-up shirt and rolled up the sleeves, revealing his muscular tattooed arms.
The shirt wasn't buttoned up to the top so it revealed a good part of his chest that was also tattooed.
He had long, brown, straight hair that hung generously on his shoulder, and he had his left ear pierced.
His eyes were blue...so blue...too blue that they looked White and his lashes were long.
He had full pink lips with a masculine jaw.
He had a small smirk on his face when he realized I was checking him out.
I snapped out of it.
"...are you still there? ...girl?", Sam called on the phone.
"I'll....talk to you later Sam", I managed to say and ended the call.
"I....uhhh...uhm", I was stuttering.... since when did I stutter.
He stretched out his hand.
"Amber Matthews, nice to meet you too Lexy", he said.
I froze...
Shit.
I said all those things, and he heard them, I mean, not like he wasn't what I described, but he's not supposed to hear that now!
"Uhh...you know my name.... and what I look like", I said nervously shaking his hands slowly.
He shrugged.
"That's new, I don't usually remember names...or anything less impact", he said.
I immediately snapped back to reality.
"Like our wedding?".
But he didn't look guilty at all.
"Was busy...I don't usually get days off so often", he said.
"Oh, and you're back today, huh?" I sneered at him.
"Yeah...I took a plane here this morning ".
I didn't ask you what you used to come back, you this arrogant bastard.
"So you're justifying what you did?", I asked.
"You expect an apology? In your dreams ", he said putting his hands into his pockets.
Oh, he did not just say that!
"So you think it's fine that you get to not show up on our wedding day, and I'll be alright with it? "I asked.
He chuckled.
"I didn't say I care what you thought about it ", he said.
I immediately frowned.
"So why did you agree to marry me? Why did you agree if you knew you weren't going to be there in person?", I asked.
He walked closer to me, filling in the space between us.
.He looked down at me.
"Why did you agree too?", he whispered.
I frowned.
He smirked.
"You see, we're both speechless ", he said.
"And don't you think this is a rather.... primitive outfit to wear on a Tuesday afternoon?" he asked, and then it occurred to me that I was still in my robe... and it barely even covered my ass.
I turned pink.
"Don't walk around with that again; you might be calling for something you won't be able to handle, "he added in a dangerous whisper.
"See you around, Lexy, "he added and walked, leaving me completely speechless.
