Claire's Pov

Another busy day I had today, I worked extra time to earn more so that I can save more for my loan. It’s been 10 days after Chris operation and according to Beth he is doing fine in his recovery. She said that his husband wants to see me but I told her that I have a job and cannot miss a day. To be honest I can visit him in my spare time but I refuse because I don't know how to approach him, what should I say to him I don't know how to make things less awkward. But eventually sooner or later I need to talk to him so we can both have closure, for now I will just focus in earning more money to pay the mafia. Speaking of mafia, here in my front door is my friend Andrew and base on his posture and sudden appearance without calling or texting me first is bad news. Trying to act normal I said hi then hug him like we usually do in the past.

Hi drew it’s been days that I didn't hear anything from you. I miss you

I miss you too girl. I've been busy with business lately. How have you been?

I have so much stories to tell but first make yourself comfortable in the couch and I will get us something ok.

ok girl. I will have a hot homemade tea if that’s ok.

It’s very rare that Andrew drink tea or any other beverages. He usually drinks warm water. I don't want to think that it has something to do in his sudden appearance in my front door. He seems nervous but why?

I asked him while handling the cup of tea.

I'm ok Claire, go get change first to something comfortable and remove your makeup. I will wait you here while drinking my tea.

It make me a little freak out. It’s obvious to me that he wants to buy more time. First is asking a hot homemade tea then asking me to change my clothes and remove my makeup which he knew that will take 10 to 15 minutes

After removing my makeup and changing in more comfortable clothes I sit beside Andrew. I noticed that he already finishes his cup then asked him if he wants a refill. He said yes then I get us both a cup of tea. This time I sat in front of him. Time pass by and he still didn't say anything.

Andrew spills it. what brings you here?

I heard about the money that you loan, plus your neglecting to attend the party.

ohw.. ok the boss is good enough to lend me that huge amount of money without questioning my capability in paying. He also didn't ask where will I use it. To be honest it shocked me that that he agreed that easily and I didn't undergo the process. The same night I email him saying my intention to loan money, he replied to my email saying CONGRATULATIONS then he sent me the contract which I immediately sign and sent it back. The next day I received the half of the money then the following day the other half.

I know you’re not stupid signing the contact without reading it right?

how,... right. Besides its all the same in content saying the the amount of money that need to be pay plus interest. Then the consequences of not paying. I already knew it because of my dad was used to process similar things. It’s already in the format, all you had to do is fill the necessary information like name, amount of money to be loan and the duration of payment.

ok if you’re that sure fine. what about the neglecting to attend the party? You know it’s a big deal to the mafia.

drew I'm not a member of the mafia so I didn't need to attend the party.

Your father is a mafia lower boss when he's alive and his only child so technically when he died it makes you a successor in his position. That make you an official member of the mafia besides I know you still have his mafia knife, right?

Andrew your right that's make me a member by default but I don't want to go back inside the mafia. They didn't do anything to help us when my father died. They just watch me and my mother to suffer. Then my mom can't handle it anymore that's why she committed suicide...

I didn't notice the tears running down my face until Andrew wiped it then hug me....

shoos Claire I am here for you. My family is here for you. You know my dad will help you and your mother if he knew THAT bustard will abuse you. He will not hesitate to kill HIM Claire if he has a chance. I promise to you HE cannot harm you anymore.

Andrew's Pov

I don't know how long I hold Claire in my arms while she is still crying. She is like a little sister to me and I hate to see her crying. I know until this day she still had a nightmare about that horrible things. If I could carry half of her burden I will. She has enough pain with in her life and I hate myself because I will give her another baggage but I have too. It’s for the better and I know Nicole will help her to heal. Its maybe a long healing process but if they are together, they will pass it sooner. They just need to warm up to each other again.

I need to tell her now before I chicken out again...

uhm... Claire I need to tell you the reason why I came here. I know I maybe look bad guy here but you need to know. It’s a direct order from the don.

ok drew I understand. what is it?

You are summoning to the don's office tomorrow at 5pm. You need to be there Claire.

Ok drew I will be there. I will also return my dad's mafia knife because I don't want to have it.

After we order some pizza and watch some reruns and her talking the event in her life with in the past days, I went home.

I hope their meeting tomorrow is a success. Both of them are independent woman who knows what they want in life but also, they are both stubborn. I can't wait see who is the tougher cookie between the two.
