While chopping the vegetables, my mind raced with thoughts of Adrian and Valerie, wondering what they were still talking about.
Valerie’s words kept replaying nonstop in my head.
“I’m your mate Adrian, the goddess joined us together,” she had said.
Some werewolves can resist the mate bond, so should I still consider Valerie a threat? They won’t find out if they sneak over there and eavesdrop, right?
I sighed and shook my head, realizing how I was overreacting over a man that wasn’t even mine. I shouldn’t be bothered about whatever happened between them, the only thing that bothered me is their connection to Lily.
I thought about the fear that was evident in Lily’s face. Adrian, too, had a clear distaste for her, but something else lingered. Something I couldn’t place.
