The royal war room was full of tension. Elara stood between Darius and Liora. All three were still flushed from their earlier passion. The Shadow King's messenger was a sleek black wolf shifter. He delivered the ultimatum with a cruel smile.
"His Majesty demands the queen and her maid as tribute. Refuse and the entire realm learns how the Lycan King shares his bed with a servant. War will follow by dawn."
Darius' golden eyes flashed with fury. "Tell your king to choke on his demand. Elara and Liora are mine. No one touches them."
Elara stepped forward. Her voice was steady but full of strength. "We will meet him at the border under truce. All three of us. No armies. If he wants a show of power we will give him one he will never forget."
