Chapter 11: The Plans

Sophie

I was so humiliated. I know I am not strong enough to fight him, but I can win his heart. I know that Claire isn’t happy being with him. She doesn’t want him around and that is exactly what I will use against them. 

I made a plan. I know I have this great fire within me and she will burn in this while me and Ace will be the fire. 

I went back to my house. On the way out of the school, I saw them together. I have never been jealous but I am pretty sure right now I was.

Ace is mine.

I ignored them and went to my car. I drove back to my home. 

I reached my home and went inside. My sister is such a pain in the a*s. She is three years younger and completely unattractive, unlike me.

I reached home and asked mom for food. “Your sister will come back soon. She had to get some papers photoshopped. I’ll serve you both together--”

“I don’t wanna eat with that b***h, and no way that I am gonna wait for her”

“She is your sister, Soph!” She was angry at me.

“You know I don’t consider her at one. She is a disgrace, mom!”

“She did everything for you!”

I scoffed. “Doesn’t matter! I hate her and will always do”

She scoffed too, and served the food. It happens every other day. She thinks that she will change me but honestly, I am never gonna! Because this is of no need! I can’t go around saying that, that unattractive, stupid and dumb girl is my sister! Does she even know what effect that will have on me?

I went to my room after eating the lunch. I sat down and started thinking about the plan. I can’t deny that this has to be one of the best plans I have made.

Claire

“WHAT” I yelled. He looked at me and laughed.

“What happened?”

“Why do you think he is my boyfriend!?” I asked him.

He laughed. “It is all over the news, my sister”

“But-- what? News? Why would it be?”

He looked at me. “Oh seems like you really are not his girlfriend” 

I looked at him suspiciously. “What do you mean?”

“He is a really famous guy ‘round this place. Don’t you know that?”

“I figured… after all he is the son of the principal”

“What?” he asked me.

“What? You don’t know?”

He looked at me via the rear view mirror. “Nope. It wasn’t mentioned. I researched on him a lot”

I looked at him suspiciously but sighed. Yeah of course he is right. No one knows this, not even the teachers. 

“Yeah, right…”

“Are you sure he is?”

“Yep”

“Okay…”

“Don’t--don’t tell anyone”

He laughed. “Oh yeah sure, you are his girlfriend, you are responsible for not spreading his secrets”

I stared at him. “I am not and I am serious”

He didn’t say anything and we stopped at the house. I went out and he followed me inside. 

“I came to know that he is our neighbour. You met him the other day and today he was following you out of school. He announced that you are his first girlfriend. And yet you say that it isn’t true. So either you tell me what’s wrong or I will believe that you are lying”

I looked at him shocked. He never talked to me so seriously like this before. 

“Uh… well…” I sighed. Should I tell him everything? But that would be bad, because if he knows that someone is troubling me, then he’d fight with him. But honestly, he would not be able to do anything because he is so famous and the principal’s son. That matters but I know that Joe will overlook it for me.

“Yeah?” he asked me and I sighed more.

I am already lying to him that no one’s troubling me. Now I will even lie to him if I choose the other option. But… he will not stop if he doesn’t have a reply and he will eventually figure it all out. 

“Um… yeah… I am… his girlfriend…”

He smirked at me. “I knew! Can you see the blush on your face? Damn!” 

I smiled and hid my face. Well, I am sure it wasn't blush, but rather my face was red from all the troubles. I was definitely scared.

“Okay, I am in my room then…” I said to him and he nodded. I started going, but he stopped me.

“Claire”

I looked at him. “Yeah?”

“Just make sure he is no trouble. Look, being the principal’s son, he could be dangerous. He can misuse it. So, be careful”

I nodded. “I will”

“And I ma happy you finally met someone”

I smiled. Even though this was all fake, his care and love was true. I know I am doing wrong, but I think it isn’t that bad because I am doing this to protect him. It doesn’t always have to be him protecting me. It could be the other way around. 

And this time, I am ready to do whatever it takes to save Joe from this mess.
