HIS PROPOSITION.
As we made our way into the bar, I could sense the shock and fear in the eyes of the supervisor, and the rest of the staff.
They were shocked to see me with the CEO of this bar.
Well, that was just the irony of life, and I just hoped that my encounter with him would mark a new starting point in my life.
"You can have your seat." He said to me with a warm smile.
Honestly, even though I was a staff member of this bar, I had never been to this side before. It was the executive suite, which was specifically built for dignitaries to lodge and relax.
"Thank you, sir." I appreciated it.
"So, you were saying something, right?" He asked, and I nodded.
"Yes, sir," I responded.
"Continue..."
"So, I was just talking about my mother's chemotherapy," I said.
"Great. "So, where were you coming from when we picked you up?" He asked, and my mood changed again.
I started crying again.
"I was coming from a job interview," I said to him.
"Wow. Where is that? "Did you get the job?" he asked with a broad smile.
I cleaned my tears before I started narrating the sad story of my life, again.
"The company called me yesterday to say that they had offered me a job, and I should be present at work today. I went there for the supposed interview, and the supposed secretary of the firm asked me to warm his bed." I explained in total disgust and anger.
At this point, I had noticed that he was trying very hard to hold back his laughter.
"Should you warm his bed? "How?" he asked with a grin.
"The secretary wanted me to sleep with him before he gave me the official appointment letter," I said, and his mood immediately changed.
He turned pale red in anger.
"What's the name of the supposed company?" he asked me.
"Mark's incorporation..." I muttered, and I could see the level of anger in his face. Even though he tried to suppress the anger that was boiling inside of him, it was almost impossible to do.
He paced around the rooftop café, before saying a word to me.
"Give me five minutes, I'll be back." He said with some kind of smile and exited the room immediately.
Now, I have a lot to worry about.
Who was this man, and what was he capable of doing?
What was he up to at that moment?
I didn't know much about the CEO of this bar, but I just knew that they said he was a very rich man. One of the richest men in the country.
Just then, a lady whom I was supposed to be the chef for came to my table.
"Good Evening, ma'am." She greeted.
"Good evening," I responded.
"The boss asked me to take your order," she said.
I thought for a while, to know if it was wise to deny the kind gesture.
"Just a glass of orange juice and beef would do," I said with a smile.
"Alright, ma'am." She responded with a smile and dashed off almost immediately.
Just as I was still thinking, he came back into the room with a warm smile.
"Bear with me. "I had to attend to some important business," the man said.
"No issues, sir. ""I'm humbled by your presence," I responded, and he smiled at me.
Only the spirits could tell you what he was going to do, earlier on.
"So, what do you do for a living?" he asked. "But before then, can I have the documents in your hands if you're okay with them?" He asked politely.
I smiled and didn't even hesitate before passing the documents to him. So far, he seemed to be a good person, and I didn't have to mess this golden opportunity up.
"You have a first-class degree in marketing?" He gasped in surprise.
I smiled.
"Yes, sir. I do." I responded.
"Your curriculum vitae and your documents are perfect. "As for your age, you look more mature than your age, and that's so beautiful," He said, and I blushed.
"Thank you, sir." I greeted you with a smile.
"Wait... "Becky White?" He asked himself. "This name rings a bell. "Do you know one Mr Donald White?" He asked, and my mood soured immediately.
I didn't even know what to say at that moment.
"Yes. "He's my late father," I responded, and he gasped in shock.
"What...!" He asked in surprise.
"Yes, he was my father. "His death still remains a mystery to us." I sighed in anger.
The atmosphere of the room changed immediately after I asked that question.
Before the sudden death of my father, he was a very prominent figure in the area of business and entrepreneurship. He was a multi-billionaire before he died, and it's just so terrible that we have nothing to show for it.
"Indeed, this world is a small place," He said with a puzzled expression.
Well, I wasn't surprised that he knew my father, but I was surprised how he knew that I could be related to him.
"You know my father?" I asked him.
"Of course, who doesn't know Mr White?" He asked with a grin.
I paused for a while. I didn't know anything to say or do about the whole development.
If he knew my father, then I just hoped that he would also do something to assist me.
"Mm... He was quite popular to an extent. "It's good," I muttered.
"So, you have a first-class degree, right? "Where do you work?" He finally asked, and I gasped.
"After the death of my father, they took over all his wealth, and I was forced to look for menial jobs. Currently, I have been working in this bar since yesterday, and I hope that I won't have to return if I get that job. "The supervisor is a terrible lady," I explained to him.
I didn't know how he was going to react to the announcement, but I was ready for anything.
"You worked here? "Don't worry, I'm going to make you the general manager of this unit," He said, and I froze in shock.
"Are you for real?" I asked in shock.
"I don't go back on my words. "Meanwhile, I will help you and your sick mother on one condition...!" He finally said, and my mind flew away.
Like, was he also going?
To ask me to warm his bed?
"What's that, sir?" I asked him in surprise.
"Marry me..." His deep voice echoed through the entire roof.
