Bar

Daniel's POV She's so beautiful in her gown. I bet if she wears that all the time, guys will really line up to court her. But I think she's too busy for romance. Why did I think so? I only get to talk to her for like 5 minutes and she's swamped again with VIPs in the concert backstage. It's good that we'll have coffee date? Nah. I think it's just a usual catching up with a friend. I didn't see her after the concert. I was really looking for her but I guess she's really busy entertaining other VIPs and maybe having a party with the team. I walked towards the parking lot and I was surprised that someone called me. "Daniel Walter? Is that you?" It's Camille Cruz. One of my classmates in college. I was surprised I saw her here. "Oh Camille! It's nice to see you." "I didn't know you like Classical music? What brings you here?"  "The soloist is my friend. She invited me to watch. So how come you're here in LA?" I asked her because I know that she's staying in the Philippines for good.  "I moved here last month. I just got my visa and my parents wanted me to stay here with them. It's really good to see a familiar face here. We should hang out some time." "That I'm not quite sure. I'm quite busy with work." "Are you sure? You always tell you're busy ever since college. Or you're telling me that your girlfriend might be jealous? Come on! It's not like that. We're friends right?" Camille asked. One thing I don't like with my college classmates is that they want me to socialize all the freaking time. Plus, I know their kind so I don't want to stick with them. "Look, I'll let you know when I'm free. It's just that..." I stopped when I saw Jillian walking towards the parking lot. "...hmmm... sorry Camille. I'm on IG, see you!" Haha! What a way to reject a girl Daniel. I knew that Camille had a crush on me back then. Sorry guys, she's pretty but she's really not my type. So after I rushed goodbye to Camille, I ran towards Jillian who's approaching her van.  "Jill!" I yelled for a bit. Some of her guards and assistant suddenly went to my direction but Jillian told them to back off. "Daniel! Thank you so much for coming. I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to talk with you for a long time. You know, I really get swamped after every concert. Do you have anywhere to go? We'll have a quick after party. Join us please?"  "You got me at the word please and your Asian puppy eyes. So yes. Let me know where, I'll just drive going there." "Great! I'll send the link to you. See you!" When she sent me the location, I'm doomed. I have not been to a bar before. Yes, call me a very good boy, but I really hate the idea of being in a bar. I just hope that it's not what I think what it is. I drive towards the location she sent me and I'm quite surprised. It's actually a different kind of bar. Not the club or bar that I think what it is. It's a jazz bar. Very classy, a hotel like feeling. More like a coffee shop to be honest. I noticed that most of the guests there are musicians and they are having a great time. When I entered the bar, someone called me immediately. "Daniel! Here's our table. I'd like you to meet some of the musicians a while ago. Would that be okay?" She knows that I'm an introvert and a geek too, so socializing is not really in my books. Being a good guy all I said was "Okay" with my dimpled smile. Which I think Jillian likes because every time I do that she smiles as if her eyes are disappearing. I like her eyes. She introduced me to some of the violinists in the orchestra. One of them looks really familiar, then I realized it was Camille and her sister, Christine.  "Soooo, you're busy with work huh?" Camille said. Jillian was surprised that I know Camille. I told her that she's one of my classmates in college. It's indeed a small world after all because Camille's sister, Christine is a violist for LA Philharmonic. I thought I would have a good talk with Jillian but she went to other musicians when Camille asked her if we can talk alone. I told her that I went there because of Jillian. "You like her? You never liked girls before! We really thought you're gay." I rolled my eyes on her and asked her why does she want to talk.  "Look, I know that you dread college because you've been everyone's crush but get over it will you? We're adults now and yeah, we can have some fun right?" I hate that flirty tone. She running her fingers on my chest which I really, really hate. I'm not your typical LA guy okay. I respect all women and I just told her, "Camille, just because you're here in America it gives you the right to be a slut. Stop flirting with me because that's what I hate the most. Don't talk to me anymore." I went outside. I wanted to stay because I love the music that I'm hearing inside but being in the same room with a flirt like that gives me a headache. Then someone tapped my shoulders. "Are you angry?" it's Jillian. "I'm really sorry. I thought you would like to have a little bit of a social life. You can go home now. But please let's meet for coffee tomorrow? I'd like to get to know you more." "Thank you Jillian. Uhm, I went here for you actually. Well, I thought that I could get to see you more but I guess you have a lot of people to talk to. I'm sorry too. It's just that, I'm not really used to this socializing thing. I prefer smaller crowds, but I just hate it when someone flirts at me. Like what Camille did." She was surprised when I told her about Camille. "She's cute though. You have a thing for girls flirting with you? But how come you're talking to me so nicely?"  "Well, for once, you listened how geek I was yesterday. Which, I think, a good trait for a girl. And you never showed being a flirt with me, like what other girls do. That's why I like you." Oh no. Why did I tell her that? "You like me?" I froze. But I immediately composed myself and tell her, "Well, as a friend right? We're friends." She laughed. We just chat at the entrance door for around 10 minutes because I told her that I should really go back home. I remembered I still have designs that needs to be polished by tomorrow. I did promise her coffee tomorrow. I smiled like a lunatic again.
