  Felix   I pass the turn, go by the coffee shops and student housing and everything else familiar until we're on the old road leading to the lake.   "Felix?" Her voice is soft. "Where are we going?"   "To a place where nobody can get hold of us. Somewhere we can just... breathe."   After twenty minutes, I take an unmarked dirt track off the main road. I've had it for a long time--right back to the time when my father's demands were too much to bear, a place I'd rather hide.   "It's beautiful," Soren says softly.   I turn to her instead of the water. "Yeah. It is."   We get out of the car. The sky is dusky, smelling of pine and water. Soren goes to end of the clearing and looks out at the lake, which is now golden in the late afternoon light.   I come up behind her, encircling her
