"In fact," Kai eases his way in, his hand on the table now covering mine. "Soren is taken."
A hush falls over the room just like the moments before a bomb explodes. Felix goes absolutely rigid.
"Taken?" Georgina raises her eyebrows. "What do you mean by taken?"
"What I'm saying is Soren and I have been dating. We're going to make it official soon." Kai's smile is just fine, but there's something predatory beneath.
"Oh how wonderful," Georgina said, as she clasped her hands. "Two children are each finding their matches, This is perfect."
Alpha Donovan nods. "Congratulations. It seems rather sudden, doesn't it?"
"You know, when you know," Kai says, gripping my hand and I want to slap him but instead I smile sheepishly.
