The tender voice of the child, filled with suppressed sobs, cut into Viviane's heart like a dull blade.
The small figure finally let down its guard and suddenly threw himself into Viviane's arms, crying out loud.
Viviane tightly held Evans, feeling his small body trembling continuously, her heart aching to the point of suffocation.
The moment she received the call, she felt as if the sky had collapsed; she couldn't bear to imagine what had happened to Evans, and she couldn't accept the thought of losing Evans and Zeth. The fear and despair of that moment nearly overwhelmed her.
