_Chapter Two: The Dead Zone_ Becca's mind reeled as she stepped into the Dead Zone's operations room. Rows of computers and surveillance monitors hummed, casting an eerie glow. The air was thick with tension. Phoenix, the striking hot broad shouldered guy with piercing green eyes, greeted her warmly. "Welcome, Becca. You're now part of our team." Becca's anxiety spiked.coming out of her weird thought"What team? What operation?" Phoenix smiled. "You'll learn soon enough. First, let's get you settled." Rachel handed Becca a small device. "Your communication link. Keep it with you always." As Becca took the device, the room fell silent. The man from the penthouse appeared on a large screen. "Becca, your first task awaits," he said, his voice commanding. "Phoenix will brief you." The screen faded, and Phoenix began explaining Becca's mission. "Your skills will be crucial in uncovering financial discrepancies within our organization," Phoenix said. "We suspect internal corruption." Becca's eyes widened. "What organization?" Phoenix leaned in. "That's classified. For now, focus on the task. Axel will assist you." A lanky figure with messy brown hair and wire-rimmed glasses approached. "Hey, Becca," Axel said.coldly "I'll guide you through our systems." As Axel began explaining the technical aspects, Becca's thoughts swirled. What have I gotten mysel Phoenix handed Becca a folder containing classified documents. "Your mission involves infiltrating a high-security facility," he explained. Becca scanned the documents, her mind racing. "Questions?" Phoenix asked. "How do I get in?" Becca asked. "Rachel will provide your cover identity and credentials," Phoenix replied. "Axel will handle technical support." Becca nodded, determination growing. "What's the catch?" she asked. Phoenix's expression turned serious. "The facility's security systems are state-of-the-art. Biometric scanners, motion detectors, and guards patrolling every floor." Becca steeled herself. "I'm ready." Phoenix handed her a small earpiece. "Communication link. Axel will guide you through." As Becca inserted the earpiece, Axel's voice crackled through. "Hey, Becca. I've got your back." Becca smiled, feeling a glimmer of hope. Retrieve Eclipse, a valuable data package stored in the central server room she wasn't even paying attention "Certainly," Becca said, her voice firm. "Let's get started." Phoenix nodded. "Rachel will escort you to the facility. Axel, begin hacking their security feed." Axel's voice came through the earpiece. "Already on it, Phoenix. As Becca stood, a sudden chill ran down her spine. Was she walking into a trap expanded chapter.after several thought Becca's mind raced as she stood in the operations room. She had been given a mission to infiltrate a high-security facility, scatter their security, and steal valuable data. But she had other plans. "If they think I'll do their dirty work," Becca thought, "I'll escape instead." A sly smile spread across her face as Axel's voice came through the earpiece. "Hey, Becca. I've got your back." Just then, Mister Alfred's voice pierced the air. "Hope you're not thinking of running," he said, his eyes narrowing. Becca's heart skipped a beat. How did he know? Mister Alfred's expression turned cold. "Many have tried to escape. Their stories aren't pleasant." Becca's thoughts swirled. What had his servant gone through did they all think of escape and because brutal as they couldn't She glanced at Rachel, who stood expressionless. "Ask Rachel," Mister Alfred continued, "she can relate." Becca's curiosity grew. What secrets did Rachel hide? But she pushed aside her empathy. "Rachel's also wicked," Becca thought. Mister Alfred's words echoed in her mind: "No escape." Becca steeled herself. She had no choice but to proceed. The mission briefing continued, with Axel outlining the facility's security systems. "...three layers of checkpoints, biometric scanners, and motion detectors," Axel explained. Becca listened intently, her mind racing with escape plans. Finally, the briefing ended. "Let's move," Phoenix said. Becca followed Rachel to the facility, her heart pounding. As they approached the entrance, Becca's anxiety grew. "Time to put on a show," Rachel whispered. Becca nodded, donning her fake identity. Inside, Becca navigated the labyrinthine corridors, avoiding guards and security cameras. Axel's voice guided her through the earpiece. "Turn left... now right..." But Becca had other plans. She veered off course, searching for an exit. "Becca, what are you doing?" Axel's voice crackled. Becca ignored him, her heart racing. Suddenly, alarms blared. "Security breach!" a voice shouted. Becca's escape had triggered the alarms. Panic set in. She sprinted down the corridor, pursued by guards. "Becca, come back!" Axel yelled. But Becca was resolute. She burst through the exit, gasping for air. Freedom! Or so she thought. A black van screeched to a halt beside her. Mister Alfred's voice came from the shadows. "You shouldn't have tried to escape." Becca's heart sank. The van's doors slid open, revealing Rachel's stern face. "Get in," Rachel growled. Becca's escape had failed. The mission would proceed as planned. But Becca vowed to find another way out. This wasn't over what is going to be her fate in the large penthouse? After her failed escape, Becca found herself back at Mister Alfred's mansion. after receiving tons of lashes from the brutal guard for trying to escape Rachel, with a mix of concern and sternness, cleaned her up and took her to Old Lady Mandy. Old Lady Mandy, a kind-eyed elderly woman, had been tasked with caring for the sick ones in the mansion fo "Listen, child," Old Lady Mandy said, her voice firm but gentle. "Instead of being stubborn, just do as you're told." Becca seethed silently, but Old Lady Mandy continued. "You can't escape Mister Alfred. He's too powerful." As the days passed, Becca grew accustomed to Old Lady Mandy's guidance. The old lady's words echoed in her mind: "Do as you're told." With a heavy heart, Becca returned to the mission. This time, she didn't try to escape. She completed her task, hacking into the facility's security systems.without being caught As she finished, Axel's voice came through the earpiece. "Great job, Becca!" Mister Alfred appeared, his expression approving. "Rachel, you've done well," he said, commending her.i trained you well "Prepare Becca for a night out," he instructed his servants. Becca was bathed, dressed, and readied for a night at the club. At the club, she felt out of place. Men admired her from afar, but none dared approach. Mister Alfred's reputation preceded her. After a night of forced revelry, Becca returned to her room, tears streaming down her face. She called Rita, confiding in her without revealing her true situation. "I'm okay, Rita. The boss is just... harsh." Rita's concern was palpable, even through the phone. Becca hung up, feeling trapped, slept after being soaked in her own tears The next day, a summons came from Mister Alfred. Meet him in the garden.she was told by Rachel who? she wondered then like a flashlight came the thought of the cruel man Becca's heart pounded as she made her way to the garden. What could Mister Alfred have planned?
