Nineteen

My earlier days inside the mansion had not been easy for me. I do nothing but roam the place as if I am very fond of the things that were here inside the mansion. Sometimes I'm afraid to move a vase, and I might accidentally break it because it looks like each one was worth millions. “There is no problem if you can break one, hija. You already own all of that even though the value of each of them is millions,” said Tito Victor with my eyes widening. "M-Millions?" I asked in surprise as he laughed. "Some of them are old and from the gift of former presidents abroad, so…" he told me before shrugging. "Because all of that is old and still in the hands of high-ranking officials, I don't know if the value of each of them is only in the millions or what," he added before continuing to eat. When I am out of shock and fear, I can do nothing but remain in a daze and seem to have lost my appetite because of what he confided in me. If the vases of this house are worth millions, how then does the whole place look like an antique? Its design is like antique glassware. If you look into the distance, you will think you live on porcelain. Almost everything I see here inside was made of porcelain. I only see a few ceramic floors. The color of the exterior wall is a mixture of white and gray, and each of its columns seems to have an engraved design that I have only just seen in my entire life. It's complicated to imitate its engraving, so I'm sure that with the design and the plan of drawing it, I know it's worth millions. Inside the house, I see different colors. There is a part where the wall color is white, and there is also white and black color on the curtains. I can see a few white colors, but most of them are red and yellow. I'm not much fascinated by the color combination of the fabrics here inside, so I'm planning to change even the interior design. I don’t know who designed these colors, but I’m sure he had an eye problem and decided on the color of this place. During my first week inside this house, I did nothing but explore and secretly move the household chores here, even though the house servant continued to prohibit and drive me away. "Senior will scold us when he sees you are fidgeting here in the kitchen," the maid, who is almost my age, remarked worriedly. When I came to this house, Tito Victor did not force me to memorize the names of the fifty helpers in the house. That fifty does not include Tito Victor's staff whenever he goes for a walk, the gardeners who only come here once to trim the plants, as well as the drivers of almost ten of his cars — and of course we should also not forget those in Tito Victor's nearly four private doctors every time he gets sick. I don't know where Tito Victor gets the money to pay the people here. Less than a million a month because he still pays for doctors. And the gossip here inside the mansion is he hires a professional doctor. The types who top all the exams… are so good. "While I'm inside the mansion, I'll do whatever I want," I replied to her before grinning. I continued peeling the onion even though my eyes were already a bit teary as well. I'm not used to not doing anything at home, so even if they don't need my help because there are many of them, I can still assist them. "I'm sorry, Senyor," the maid who scolded me earlier apologized. I watched Tito Victor shake his head at me in disappointment while I turned my gaze to the maid, who was a little surprised by what I said. There was a trace of fear on her face, and so were her companions who were with the one who reprimanded me earlier for peeling the onion. "I just want to help, Tito," I defended before turning to him, who was now watching me intently. “You don't have to forbid me if I want to help. There's not much to do here at home, and I don't even know how to use computers at the study table. And then no one comes too close to me here because they are afraid of all your policies. It's as if someone is going to hurt me here,” I whispered at the last thing. He cleared his throat, especially when we were the only two here because he dismissed the helpers who had intentionally soared here to apologize to him. It’s just funny because of him they apologize instead of me! I was when they almost pimped everyone into the kitchen, then they didn’t even apologize to me. It's just heartbreaking! After all, I can fire them… maybe. "Everyone who manages this house and everyone who has shares here in the house is never notified to join and move in all the housework that the housemates should be doing," he explained to me. Here we are in Tito Victor’s office. I don't know why he brought me here, even though he can talk to me in the dining room if we don't have anything important to talk about. I know that the problem we both had before was just about peeling the onion, so instead of complaining, I just kept my mouth shut. I can’t deny I feel bad. Shouldn't he just let me go? I haven't done anything before that will hurt the helpers, so why is he intriguing me here now? I haven't done anything wrong before, and why am I here? "But if you really want to help… I think I'll change the policy implemented by your great grandfather," he nodded, which I later snouted. “He never said anything to stop you from doing whatever you want to do. Do you really want to do something after what happened earlier? ” “The helpers who stopped me earlier… I want to get rid of them. All of them,” I said confidently with his face. I know that my decision is very selfish if only about what happened before, will be the basis for me to remove them all. Of course, I would do that because they made me feel terrible before. If they pimped me earlier, it would be like I was a novice helper who didn't have to help them because they could. I used to feel like they underestimated my character. It's as if they don't know my actual status in this house, and they don't care even if I introduce myself to them. I feel in their eyes that they don't care even if they recognize me. It was a good and proper way that Tito Victor introduced me to them that I am the heiress. Because of what they did to drive me away, I felt they had no respect that could be given to me. They say that when a chicken tests positive for the disease, it is necessary to separate it from its companions because it is possible to infect others with the condition it carries. If in the factory there is a rejected that needs to be discarded… so should the person. "Which one of them?" he asked as if ready to give in to everything I wanted. Slowly my eyes narrowed before smiling foolishly at him. He seemed to know what was running through my mind, so a sigh that seemed to have failed at what he wanted to happen the word came out of my mouth. “All the helpers— oh erase that. All the staff who were in the house before I arrived, I want them all fired and replaced with new ones, Tito.” "Are you serious, hija?" he raised an eyebrow at the question I asked. “Except for personal doctors who got high marks in bar exams. I think you need them,” I joked with his face. Just as I wanted it to happen, he nodded in agreement with my suggestion. He also insisted on finding new assistants, and he would do all that tomorrow morning. It looks like our expenses will increase a bit because of what I did — and we will never have a reduction of the two million we will spend on paying them. If I ever run out of money… maybe I'll have a better chance of getting out of this place quickly. I don't know anything about running and growing a business, so I know my grandfather will give it to me if we both face each other in heaven. I will tell and admit to him that teaching was my course in college, and I knew nothing about growing a business, unlike my mother. "I will do everything you want if you follow what I want to happen for you," said Tito Victor raising an eyebrow. Why didn't I immediately think that there was a substitute for everything? I feel like I'm submitting my soul to the devil now… trading that is. Does there need to be a change in everything? Even if I wanted to back down from my thoughts, I couldn't back down either because he had already signed the documents that contained that he agreed to the eviction of those housemaids, including the fact that we both had an agreement that I needed to comply and are forbidden to appeal. "What do you really want to happen, Tito?" He gave me a nervous smile to once again feel the nervousness that I only last felt when he admitted to me that I would inherit everything. I don’t know, but I seem to feel a slight fear in my body even though I am already ruled by anxiety at the end of the housemaid who stopped me earlier. “I will hire private professors to teach you about business. You will learn about the growth of the assets you have inherited— ” "Of course!" I immediately interrupted his explanation because he might think that my mind was changing with the flow of what he was saying. “Of course I will do that! I prefer that because I don't have to stay here in the mansion, and finally, I can leave here even if— ” "Your private professors will visit you here at home, hija," he said with a smile on her face. What? What else is the study for then? “What—” "Homeschooled because I haven't allowed you to go out yet because several are threatening your life now," he added. Threatening? It was as if the billions of dollars in the bank in my name were too big. Also, I would instead be kidn*pped and give all the kidnappers the fortune in my bank and thus make it easier for me to leave the house, but that thing doesn’t seem to happen. “Many are threatening? Why can't I feel it?” I joked that he shrugged. "Because you are secured here in the mansion if you stay here," he explained to me confidentially. "But if you don't let me—" "Of course, I will!" I immediately stopped him from laughing before I re-examined the paper he handed me and signed those documents.
