Daniel's POV We pulled up outside Laura's mother's apartment building. Laura asked if I wanted to come upstairs for a few minutes and say hello, but I wasn't ready for that. Not like this. Not now. Especially not after the conversation we'd just had in the car. I watched as Laura disappeared into the stairwell of the old apartment building.
