No Turning Back

726 Words
The morning light bled through Elias’s penthouse curtains, pale and unforgiving. Avery stirred against the sheets, her head resting on his chest, her leg tangled over his. She should have slipped out hours ago. She should have gone home, pretended none of this ever happened. But she didn’t move. She couldn’t. Elias’s hand stroked her bare back lazily, as though he’d been awake the whole time, savoring the feel of her skin. His touch was softer than his usual roughness, but there was still possession in every brush of his fingers. “You’re quiet,” he murmured, his voice gravelly from sleep. Avery’s throat tightened. “Because I’m thinking about how insane this is.” “Insane?” His lips curved against her hair. “Maybe. But inevitable.” She pulled back slightly to look at him, her eyes searching his. “Don’t you care what happens if they find out? My dad—your mom—everyone we know. They’ll hate us.” Elias’s jaw hardened, his expression unreadable. “Let them. They don’t get a say in this.” Her chest ached. She wanted to believe him, to drown in his conviction, but fear gnawed at her. “And what if I can’t live with it? What if it destroys everything?” For a moment, silence stretched between them. Then Elias rolled her onto her back, caging her beneath him. His gaze burned into hers, dark and unyielding. “Then you’ll still be mine,” he said fiercely. “Even if the world turns to ash. Even if they disown us. You think I’ll let you go, Avery? You think I could?” His mouth hovered over hers, his breath hot. “No. You’re already marked.” Her body shivered at the intensity in his voice. His words terrified her, thrilled her, shackled her. “Marked?” she whispered. His lips ghosted her ear. “By me. You belong to me now. There’s no undoing it.” Her breath caught as his hand slid down, his fingers slipping between her thighs, finding her wet and ready. He smirked darkly. “See? Your body already knows the truth.” A protest formed on her lips, but dissolved into a gasp as he pushed two fingers inside her, curling them just right. Her hips arched, chasing the pleasure even as her mind screamed danger. “You’ll never escape me,” Elias murmured, watching her unravel beneath him. “Not in your bed, not in your dreams, not anywhere. Every time you close your eyes, you’ll feel me. Every time you touch yourself, you’ll be thinking of me.” His words wrapped around her like chains. She was already trembling, already on edge, when he withdrew his fingers and thrust into her with one brutal stroke. Avery cried out, clutching at his shoulders as he filled her, stretching her so deep she could barely breathe. Elias groaned, burying his face against her neck as he moved, slow at first, then harder, faster, claiming her all over again. “Say it,” he demanded between thrusts. Her nails dug into his back, her body bucking helplessly beneath him. “Say what?” she gasped. “That you’re mine. Say it.” His hand gripped her throat lightly, just enough to make her breath stutter. “I—I’m yours,” she whispered. He slammed into her harder. “Louder.” Her moans broke into a scream. “I’m yours!” His growl rumbled against her skin as he drove into her mercilessly, their bodies colliding with wet, desperate sounds. His mouth captured hers, devouring her cries, owning every gasp. She shattered around him, her orgasm tearing through her so violently she nearly sobbed. Elias groaned, thrusting deep as he spilled inside her, his grip unrelenting, his dominance absolute. When the storm finally broke, they collapsed together, panting, drenched in sweat. Elias didn’t release her, didn’t soften. His arms caged her, his gaze locked onto hers like a man who had just staked his eternal claim. “There’s no turning back now,” he said quietly, almost reverently. “You understand that, don’t you?” Avery’s lips trembled, her heart pounding as reality sank in. She knew he was right. Whatever this was—lust, obsession, love—it had consumed them. And now, there was no way out.
