~Ava's POV~ "Ava, he's not safe. I'm scared of him." That was Lily. But first, I had four hours to make sure my father's press conference landed on deaf ears. Four hours. I sat with Dana's information for exactly thirty seconds, then I started moving. Silas Hale was going to stand in front of every camera in Manhattan and paint me as a victim. Not because he cared about me. He hadn't cared about me in years, maybe ever. He was going to do it because a victimized daughter was more sympathetic than a disowned one. It reset the entire narrative. It made him the worried father and Dominic the predator who'd swooped in on a vulnerable woman the night her life fell apart. It was clever. It was nasty.
