Chapter III Cafe

I sat down in the cafe shop holding my cup of coffee staring at it with a blank expression, I never knew we were actually getting coffee, I took a quick glance at him, he was typing on his phone with a relaxed expression on his face...ok this silence is really uncomfortable for me to bare with.

"So hey thanks for saving my ass from those girls" He said finally breaking the silence.

"It's ok it wasn't a big deal" said Diana as she was still holding and staring at her coffee.

"I see you're the shy type" he said smirking.

"No I'm not" Said Diana as she chuckle while looking at her coffee in her hands.

"Yes you are, you're wearing a hoodie looking all mysterious and I happen to like mysterious girls."He said.

Wait what?...is he like flirting with me or something?.

"how do you know my name like I mean I've never talked to you". I said now looking at him with my eyebrows furrowed.

"What if I told you I can read minds" he said.

"Oh really then what I'm i thinking?" I said as i crossed my hands on my chest.

"Okay you got me I can't read minds" he said laughing."To be honest I kinda just guessed you're name".

"Seriously you gussed my name?" said Diana looking at him with a 'DUH' expression."anyway enough with me, so what are you called?".

"I'm Damian Lockwood" said Damian as he smile.

"Nice meeting you officially Damian" Said Diana as she smiled at him.

We talked and laughed about so many things while getting to know each other,it was really fun though.

"I've never really met a girl whose good at videogames, like seriously you should play online sometime." He says.

"Yeah I'll think about it". I said, Smiling as I took my phone out to check the time and it was kinda getting late though.

"I really need to be heading home" Diana said standing up picking her bag while Damian followed behind her to the exit of the cafe.

"It was nice getting to know you Diana". Damian said as he smirked at me.

 i smiled at him. And then we went our separate ways.

Home

I got home just in time. Mehn I never realized how hungry I was, I opened the fridge to take my left over pizza that was in the fridge but it was missing. I was mad cause I don't joke with my pizza!.

I went to the living room where my siblings are.

"Who ate my pizza?!." I asked non of them replied.

My two brothers were playing FIFA and I went to switch off the TV cause that's the only way I could get their attention and I know I'm gonna regret but I don't care.

"Yo! Diana WTF!...WHY DID YOU DO THAT FOR!?... Gabriel shouted at me.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!...Jeff shouted too.

"Who in the f**k ate the slice of pizza I left in the fridge?!". I said.

"Oh my God would you all shut up already". Jennifer my sister said as she walked towards us.

"You shut up Jennifer!, why are you here anyway."said Jeff.

"You i***t I live here and I could hear you voices from my room duh!" Jennifer said while she rolled her eyes.

"I know its between you guys, Everytime this happens, and I'm not gonna tolerate this s**t anymore"said Diana frowning at her brothers.

"Well it wasn't me"said Jeff.

"Me neither"said Gabriel.

That's how we continued arguing till our mom came in to know what the fuss is all about and we settled our fight.

Evening

Im in my room laying and thinking about Damian and our talk I never realized I was smiling ,oh s**t that reminds me MABEL, I need to see her ask her what's going on, I've never seen her like this before. I sigh as I stood up from my bed. I wore my black ripped skinny jeans and black shirt and rolled it's sleeves with my all star trainers and packed my hair in a ponytail.

I left heading to MABEL house as I knocked on her door only to be greeted by her mom.

"Oh hey Diana how are you"said Mrs Wright.

"I'm fine Mrs Wright, are you ok?" I said as i walk in looking concerned.

Mrs Wright face was a little bit discolored, her eyes were kinda red and wet looks like she has been crying for days.

"I'm good dear don't mind me, I was chopping some onions". She says wiping her eyes as she closes the door behind her.

"So how are your parents?"...said Mrs Wright as she went to the kitchen, I follow her behind, she begins chopping some carrots.

"They're fine" i said smiling at her as I lean on the counter.

Mrs Wright only looked at me with a sad smile on her face as she continues chopping the carrots.

I went upstairs to Mabel's room, I opened the door slowly only to find Mabel reading a book near the windowsill. i walk in and stood while folding my arms across my chest and leaned on the door post.

"Hey". I said still leaning on the door post.

Mabel looked up from her book, she smiled at me.

"Hey" Mabel says to me, closing the book and putting it down." I know I overreacted and I shouldn't have been mad at you for some silly boy that I haven't talked to. Please can you forgive me?. She said as she walks towards me.

"Hmm...let me see...NO" i say.

Mabel makes a puppy dog face that she know I couldn't resist.

"Ok, ok fine I forgive you geez" i say laughing "I can't believe that still works on me"

We both hug it out and start to talk and laughed, I told her my encounter with Damian and how we kinda hungout.

"OMG you went out on a date with the new guy-i mean Damian, wow even his name is Hot!" said Mabel.

"It wasn't a date ok I only did him a favor" I said as i lean my hand on my palm. "Well he said he'll send me a friend request online on thelastofus" I blurted out.

"Seriously a friend request that's so cool even I don't have hot guys on thelastofus". Mabel says pouting.

"It's just a friend request it's not like we exchange numbers" I sigh.

We layed on the bed staring at the ceiling and went quite for sometime.

"Mabel is everything okay?".

"Yeah?...why'd you ask?"

"Come on don't play dumb, are you saying you haven't seen your mom?". I say sitting up and looking at Mabel. "She looks like s**t!."

Mabel went quite and didn't respond to what I said, I sighed and stand from her bed and I glanced over the pink wall clock which reads 9:55 pm.

"It's almost 10pm" i say still looking at the clock.

Mabel stands up from her bed. "Common I'll walk you out".

It's already getting late and I didn't plan on staying at Mabel's house. We both headed downstairs and I saw Mabel's mom as she was taking out something from the fridge.

"Diana you're already leaving?". I nod at her. "Oh I thought you would stay for dinner".

"No Mrs Wright". I said. "maybe some other time". She smiled to me and went on cleaning the kitchen counters. I opened the door and went out as Mabel follows behind and shuts the door.

I turn now facing Mabel who is crossing her arms and staring at her feet.

"Hey mabel"

"Yeah?" She says looking up at me.

"You know you can tell me anything right" I say staring at her. It took a while for her to respond.

"Ye...yeah". Mabel says.

I hugged her and she hugged me back and I waved her goodnight.
