There was a shout from the shadows near the other end of the corridor, and Shake looked to see someone peeking outside the cafeteria. Samuel Imshana with a coffee cup in hand. The black man dropped the cup and his hand disappeared. When it reappeared, it was holding a nickel-plated revolver. The first shot missed and thudded into the wall near Shake’s right shoulder. He didn’t wait for Samuel Imshana to correct his aim. Shake drew the Kimber, thumbed the safety off and tossed two unaimed shots down the corridor.
