Her Husband’s Brother.

I couldn’t help but feel a little out of place, but the beauty of everything around me kept me in awe. The music was elegant, the kind you’d hear in movies, and the garden outside was lit with fairy lights, creating a magical glow. It was overwhelming, but fascinating. And I feel like going to my room to sleep in my bed. I’m Luna, but I don’t know what I should do around here since everyone’s focus is on Jonathan and not on their Luna. I created the party by arranging everything according to his taste. I think my work here is done. Maybe I should leave and go hide in an isolated spot from everyone. I don’t want to stay here anymore. Their gazes and presence makes my stomach hurt. I saw Pierce, dressed in a silver fitted suit and holding a glass of champagne, appear to be very handsome while he was talking with someone. He has three silver little earrings on each side of his ear and three silver little pins on them too and the strands of his hair tucked in his right ear as he smiled. Pierce Mist has gorgeous features. No wonder Jonathan has always been jealous of him. What is he doing here? I thought he had gone back to abroad by now. Even though I stood far from him, I could smell his pheromones and his laughter was…pretty. The second his expression paused and looked over in my direction. I looked away and moved to another spot, away from his gaze. What is wrong with me? I sighed and rushed to the balcony, wanting to take some air. My hands rested on the pavement and a lot of things went to my head as I heaved a long sigh. Maybe I’m cursed or something, because I can’t explain why I keep feeling like this, chasing these emotions and running away like a lovesick teenager. I shook my head, trying to clear my mind, but no matter how hard I tried, the thoughts kept rushing back in, relentless and unstoppable. My body is failing me and I feel so alone in this world. When was the last time? I was truly happy? When my daughter was alive or before I got married? I don’t even know anymore. I can't remember. But one thing was for sure, I have never regretted giving birth to my daughter. “You look bored as hell, Luna.” The breeze plastered the strands of my hair to my face. I brushed it aside and saw Pierce coming up to me with a little smile. The cold breeze blowing through his hair as he strolled up to me made him look majestic. “Kinda.” I gave a nervous chuckle and remembered something. “This is New Year already. I thought you would be gone by now. I’m surprised you are still around.” “Do you want me gone?” He looked down from the pavement. “Hell, no.” I laughed. “No, I was just saying…” my right hand went to my mouth, falling to its side before I smiled. “No, it isn’t like that. I was just wondering if you have something to do because once the New Year ends, you disappear. You are always nowhere to be found. Haha. So, I was a little concerned.” I don't even know why I was saying all that to him. I must sound like an i***t. He stood side by side with me. His dressing sense was the fanciest and how elegant he looked. I love everything about him. He smells so good and manly, despite how young he is. And wait, how old is he anyway? We both grew silent and watched the view of the city. Pierce took a sip from his champagne and I held my hands in front of me, wondering what he was thinking about. What were both of us thinking about? I don’t even know myself because my thoughts are a little fuzzy. My head seems to get stuck in the middle of nowhere and stop itself from thinking. The only thing I was aware of was the scent of Pierce passing through my nostrils. What is wrong with me for crying out loud? Am I sick or something? “Haaah!” He groaned a little and brought out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket. He lit up his cigarette and blew some smoke into the air. I didn’t know he smoked. Somehow, he doesn’t seem like the type to, yet he looks even more bored by this party than I do. “I’m leaving soon, anyway,” he said, the cigarette resting between his lips. “I’m just here on some business. Once it’s finished, I’m heading back abroad.” He stared up at the sky for a moment before turning to me with a warm smile. “How did you celebrate the New Year?” he asked, a small grin playing on his lips. “Oh, me?” “f*****g yes, who else is around here?” “I don’t really know.” I shrugged. “I guess I just sat down all day, watching the people of the clan. I had my favorite food and drinks. Guess that’s all.” I glanced up at the sky, forcing myself to not remember what happened before this party. “Hmmm.” He smoked even more and walked away from me. I saw him moving away and there was something I wanted to say to him. The words got stuck in my throat. I let my left hand fall to my side immediately after I stretched it out to stop him. I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t tell him to stop and stay with me for a few minutes. I guess that would sound absurd. Don’t want him looking at me like some weird lonely Omega who wants company from her husband’s younger brother. I sighed and heard the doors shut. What is definitely wrong with me? I fell on my knees not knowing why it happened, but I just wanted to stay here since I find it comforting to do so. His scent still lingers. And I wanted to sleep in it. “Do you drink?” His voice made me spin around. I stood up. I was sure he’d already gone. I heard the doors close. So why was he standing here, watching me? “Drink?” I questioned. “Yes.” He responded. “I… I’m not sure,” I whispered, brushing my hand nervously through my hair. He stepped closer, his eyes lingering on me longer than they should. “A glass of cocktail wouldn't bite."
