Chapter 7 Blaine Shaw That fucken b***h!! I smash the phone down. I just got the call I’ve been waiting for but not the information I wanted to hear. I was expecting my team to tell me they have her but no.. They lost her again!! How is she always disappearing? She’s weak, and submissive, that’s why I targeted her. She would always agree with me even when she didn’t want to. She was perfect for my needs, so how is she so hard to get? I have a buyer already lined up, I was just training her like the others. Somehow she grew a backbone.  They found her in the woods and were about to nab her when she took off. They did put a tracker on her truck, by the time they caught up to her she somehow killed three of the team. They had to call in for more guys but by that time the truck was torched and she was long gone.  The buyer is getting antsy and wants his purchase. I have never taken this long training and they know it. They start to realize there is a problem, they just don’t know what kind of problem. If I don’t get her soon and deliver my head will be on a  plate. I have to cast a wider net.  Josh Boss’s call me to the house, I’m still livid from what Sky has been through. I came back to the club house and ended up taking my frustrations out on the heavy bag. The crew knew to leave me alone when I’m like this. They know something is up and will be told in due time.  Now I'm a bit calmer. “ When are we gonna fill in the boy’s?” I ask.   Shane- “ As soon as possible, they have to know and be ready for anything at any time. It’s only a matter of time before he catches up to her. I don’t want her going into the wind again, I don’t want to lose her.”   I nod my agreement, movement behind him catches my eye and I see Sky there. I give her a smile. After the boss explains to her about the boy’s she says she doesn’t want to be seen differently in the smallest voice I’ve ever heard. My heart broke in a million pieces.  She’s looking down at her hands in her laps and the twins faces pale and look to be on the verge of panic.  “ No one's gonna look or treat you any different than they did this morning, I promise you that.” I say to her trying to put everyone at ease including myself.  “ I’ll round up the boy’s, be ready in five.” I say as I get up from the table.  I round everyone up to the meeting room, They know we are helping a girl out and to be on the lookout for anything abnormal but that ‘s it. I see everyone is here so I start the meeting. I know they will be here any minute but I have to say this before they do.  “ You all know that we are helping a girl out and she has been staying at the shop. She has finally been able to trust us enough to share as to why. I know most of you don’t know who she is but this goes to all of you, especially those who do know her. After what you hear today you WILL NOT treat her, speak to her or look at her any differently than you did earlier today or would first meet someone. Am I clear?”  “ YES SIR” they shout at once and brace themselves. They know it has to be bad for me to say this, it’s not  something I do. Sky Josh leaves and the silence is heavy in the air. I chanced to look up and see Shane put his arms out to me. I go to him like he is a magnet and curl up in his lap, he wraps his arms around me soothing my trembling. Sshh he says in my ear and slightly rocking me like a baby. “ It will be alright, we will be with you the whole  time” he says. “ Just don’t leave me alone, please.” I plead to them. “ We won't be little one, we will be right by your side.”  I get down, they stand to make our way to the barn.  I stop right before the door and hear a loud “YES SIR” and stiffen. They each take a hand and Devon kisses my temple. “ You're not alone sweetie.” I know they can feel my hand tremble. We walk into an open space and Josh stands on a small stage making him look even taller. We make our way over to him, he gives me a reassuring smile and nods to the boys.  Standing up there between the twins with them holding my hands I put my brave face on. I look at all the eyes staring back at me, they don’t know what to think of me. Some have confused faces other’s are curious. Shane has his normal harsh look but so does Devon which is not normal for him.  Shane- “ Thank you all for coming today.” his voice booms out. “ I would like to introduce you to Sky, you all know she was sent to us for help. She has been running for quite some time now from a very abusive husband. He is very dangerous and has already killed trying to get her back. We all have to be on alert and our eyes peeled for any strangers. If you see anyone report it immediately, and everyone takes precautions. Sky has been mainly staying at the shop and only been  to town once. She limits her exposure as much as she can but we all know that’s no guarantee. Any questions?” he asks.  As he was talking I saw the men change, their body’s became more stiff. Most cut their eyes to me, studying me for any reaction to what’s being said and I give them none. I squeeze their hands more waiting for the questions I know are gonna follow.  “ Is it just him or did he recruit help?” someone shouted. All eyes are on me now, I guess I have to answer that. Holding my voice steady “ he is a police officer so he has resources but I don’t know how far  they go, also the department doesn’t know about the abuse. But I would not put anything past him.”  “ How don’t they know?” a female voice this  time. I can see rage in her eye’s, I just don’t know if it’s directed to me or about the situation. “ When I reported it they didn’t believe me.” I simply state. Heads shake and faces turn more red, I can tell they don’t like what they hear. “Anything else?” Devon asks them and no one says anything. “ Ok then let’s keep our eyes and ears open, thank you everyone.” The men disperse and I breathe a sigh of relief.  “ Sweets you hungry? There’s food and it’s late, I don’t want you to go to bed hungry.” Devon says. When he says that I realize how late it is. That took longer than I thought it would. I look up at him and give a small nod, not sure I can talk right now. Devon goes to get me food while Shane leads me to a chair and sits next to me.  Tony and Ant come sit by us and hand Shane and I a beer. “ Are you excited to start working in the shop, Fairy?” Ant asked. I c**k my head to the side. “ I’m excited to see what she has been working on in the garage.” Tony says to no one in particular.  Devon hands me a plate, “ They started saying there was a ‘part fairy’ in the shop and we figured out it was you.” he says to my confused look. A smile slowly appears on my face, “ So now I’m Fairy.” I nod. They all giggle.  Seeing there’s no seat for Devon I stand up and move to the side, giving him my seat. I figured I would just stand when he pulled me into his lap and held my beer so I could eat. They all chit chatted with each other laughing and joking, I added things here and there.  After a while I leaned back into his chest listening to his beep voice, feeling the vibrations and warmth of his embrace. It felt surrounded in a comforting cocoon. My eyes became heavy and my head started to lole, I’m fighting sleep. Yes I trust them but can I really trust anyone when I'm asleep?  That’s when Blaine attacked the most. I would stay awake as long as I could, sometimes days at a time. Other times I would only nap during the day time when I thought he was at work until the day he came home early. I woke up to him on top of me beating me then threw me in a cage. I shudder at the memory, I haven’t been able to nap since.  I feel my head fall to the side, I snap it up and pry my eyes open. I  sit up a bit trying to wake up. I hear some giggles around me and I try to focus. Devon leans in my ear “ It’s time for bed sweets.”  He stands up with me in his arms walking to the house. I look back over his shoulder and see Shane following. The others are watching and Josh gives a small wave, I wave back at him and everyone else.
