Roxxane's POV I’m standing in the forest. Not the one behind the campus. Not any I recognize. This one feels…ancient. Older than memory and silence itself. The trees are impossibly tall, their trunks thick and gnarled, disappearing into a canopy of darkness that blocks out the sky. Fog curls around my ankles. The ground is damp and soft, like it’s breathing. Then I see the fire. It’s huge. Violent. Alive. It crackles in the distance, lightening the trees in flickering amber.
