I checked into a hotel, and honestly, it's the best decision I could've made.
The guilt sits heavy in my chest, but I push it down. I made the right choice. Staying at Canan's house would've been a disaster waiting to happen. I won't be the reason his family vacation turns into a nightmare.
I don't want to ruin what he has with them. And I can handle myself. I've always been able to handle myself. I don't need to be at the pack house to enjoy being here. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway.
The view from my room is breathtaking. I didn't expect to get this lucky with the booking.
I pull the curtains open and inhale deeply, letting the cool air hit my face. The mountains surrounding the territory are beautiful, massive and ancient, their peaks touching the sky.
