*Gloria pov:
It was the night of the full moon...
The air was a bit cold, but warmth radiated from the large fires we had set up in the square. Everyone was gathered: the wolves, the betas, the gammas... young and old, laughing, eating, dancing. It was a night they celebrated every month, honoring the full moon that watched over them from the heavens above.
I sat by the fire with *Ella*, my new friend and future beta mate. I looked at her, and I saw something... a thin thread of light, almost invisible, stretching between us.
Ella smiled kindly and whispered:
"You’re my family, Gloria. Even if blood doesn’t bind us, the heart knows."
I felt tears sting my eyes, but they were warm tears... tears of finally finding belonging.
And suddenly...
I felt a gaze piercing through me.
I turned, and there he was... *Arnold*.
His eyes were not like the others.
They searched for me in the crowd. The thin, glowing thread from his hand to mine was magical, as if it were from a fairy tale.
He stepped closer, with confident strides, and extended his hand to me.
"Come, I have a little surprise for you."
I didn’t ask, I just let my hand rest in his, as if my heart had already made the decision.
He led me away from the square, to where a sleek black car was waiting for us.
We got in, and he didn’t ask me anything, just drove along the path while I looked at the sky that followed us with its silvery light.
We arrived in the human city.
Everything was different here: the lights, the laughter, the life.
He stopped the car in front of a luxurious hotel, with windows lit in warm golden hues.
He led me inside, where a table was waiting for us, surrounded by a romantic atmosphere, candlelight, and soft music playing in the background.
We sat down.
He didn’t speak right away... just looked at me, as if gathering the courage from every part of him.
Then, finally, he whispered:
"Gloria... you’re not just important to me.
You’re my soul.
My mate.
My Luna."
My breath stopped.
My heart raced painfully and beautifully all at once.
I couldn’t speak.
I was scared, nervous, and happier than I could describe.
But he didn’t wait for my reply.
He reached out and gently took my hand, his eyes full of sincerity, hope, and love that had been waiting for the moment to explode.
Gloria, I want us to give each other a chance to be together. I really want to be close to you. Will you accept me?"
Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, my heart will explode. I never thought I’d feel this happy.
"Oooh, yes, I would love that, Arnold."
"I’d be happy to try a relationship with you." Oh my God, I feel like my face is going to explode from the blush.
After I spoke my trembling words, I felt like everything around me paused for a moment.
The music, the candlelight, the passing glances of people... I could no longer hear or see anything except *Arnold*.
He smiled, that rare smile I’d rarely seen, a genuine smile filled with relief, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders.
He moved closer to me, gently, as if I were a treasure he feared might break, and rested his forehead against mine.
*"Thank you for giving me a chance..."*
He whispered it as if it were a promise.
That night wasn’t just an ordinary date.
It was the beginning of something new... something I had long dreamed of, though I never dared to admit it.
After dinner, we walked through the streets of the city.
His hand held mine, not in a constraining way, but with the warmth of protection.
We passed by vendors, sparkling lights, and the hustle and bustle...
But with Arnold, everything felt calm, as if the entire world had agreed to let me live this moment in peace.
Suddenly, he stopped in front of a small candy shop.
He smiled mischievously and said:
*"We must celebrate our beginning with something sweet."*
I laughed, a genuine laugh that came from deep within me.
We bought a small cake and sat on the curb, eating it while the sky drizzled light drops of rain on us.
I didn’t mind the rain.
I didn’t mind the world.
All that mattered was... that I was finally grasping the edge of my dream.
We shared our secrets. He told me about the love of his life, the one who left him for someone else. I felt every word he said. I sensed his disappointment. He had loved her since they were children. It was him, her, and another friend—always playing together. He said he had felt drawn to her since they were kids. They stayed together, and he was the future alpha of the Arthal light pack. It seemed his mate had chosen his friend, even after knowing they were destined to be alphas together. He told me that the pain had been unbearable.
Without warning, I hugged him. I wanted to comfort him, to let him know that I was here for him and would never betray him.
When I told him my story about how my former mate rejected me, I could see his anger. He told me not to worry, that my wolf would appear one day. Until that time came, he would always be by my side.
