Two days passed in a haze of stolen glances and barely contained anticipation.
Elise arrived for the next scheduled session on Wednesday evening with her usual leather satchel slung over her shoulder and her composure locked tightly in place. Inside, her blood hummed. She had replayed the library scene countless times: the taste of Daphne on her tongue, the way the girl’s thighs had trembled around her ears, the broken, reverent sound of her name when Daphne came.
Daphne opened the front door herself this time.
