Chapter 2, The interview

Ch.2

It's been a week since I moved in with my aunt. Today Im going to a job interview at a company in the main part of the city. Even though my aunt said I didn't have to work while living with her, I did go to college for a business degree and I haven't gotten to use it, do to Sam never letting me work to far from home. Now that I'm not with him and in a whole different state than him, I'm taking my chance to get out and do something different.

I was getting ready for my interview when Sinthea sent me a message telling me about how Sam has done nothing but see saying how he misses me and wants me to come home. She told me how he even said that he was talking to someone to get help on his anger and drinking problems. It's hard to believe that, especially since when we were together, he refused to go talk to someone no matter how many people told him to. As I was getting to the building for my interview, she sent me one more message that gave me chills. She had said how Sam said he already has suspicion. I went to my aunts since I dont have parents to go to.

While I was waiting for my turn in the interviews, I couldn't stop thinking about what Sinthea said about Sam. It made me worry a little about him showing up here and forcing me back. As I was thinking about what could happen, my name was called for my interview to start.

It's been a week since I read Ellies back round check. Today, I was doing interviews for my company when I saw a familiar name among the candidates. From what I read about her, Ex. I knew immediately I was going to hire her. That way, I could keep her close without her realizing why.

I was waiting in the conference room after about five different candidates when it was finally Ellie’s turn to be interviewed. As she walked in, it was like I was seeing a whole new person from the scared girl on the plane. She seemed happy and looked healthier than she did the first time I saw her. Ellie was wearing a basic pants suit that showed off a good amount of her curves. When she first came into the room, she seemed to think about something, but once she looked up to see who was interviewing her, she seemed to relax a little. It made me happy to see she was comfortable around me to relax a bit. Most people are too afraid of me to look me in the eyes. As I asked her to sit so we could start her interview, she seemed surprised to realize I was the one interviewing her. She had told me how her and the other candidates were told the CEO was doing the interviews. When she said that, I had told her how I was the CEO, and yes, I was doing the interviews.

When first walked into the conference room, the interviews were being held in, and I looked up to see a familier face. As I saw “Issac” was a part of the interview and that he worked at this company, it made me feel a bit more relaxed knowing someone I’ve met before was here. He had asked me to sit to start the interview, but when I gave him a more confused look a had told him how me and the others in the waiting room were told the CEO was doing the interviews. That's when he told me how he was the CEO and he was indeed doing the interviews.

I was pretty shocked as to him telling me his was the CEO, and told him how I didn’t think he was at first glance since to me he seemed like a normal worker. He seemed to find that funny since, according to him, people usually are afraid of him.When he said that, I was surprised since to me he seemed like a guy you could be around. After having a small discution, he started the interview.

After the interview was finished, he said how someone from the company would get in touch with me about being hired. He also said how I’d probilibly be picked do to me having a digree compared to the others. As we were rapping up the interview, he had said not only that but also how I dressed was nicer and more professionally than the others. Hearing him say I was dressed nicely made me blush a little do to not being used to being complimented much.

We stood up to shake hands then to say our goodbyes. He walked me to the door and opened it for me to leave. That was when I caught a small shocked face on his assistants face. As I was leaving the building to call for a taxi my aunt called me to tell me how she wouldn’t be home when I got back do to the book club she was in running later than other nights.

Once I got back to the house, I went up to my room only to sit down and see Sinthea calling me. “Hey girl, I just got back to the house.” “ Ellie?” I froze when I realized how scared she sounded. “Sinthea whats wrong? You sound terrified.”

“Ellie, Sam came to the store today and threatened to start killing people if we don’t start telling him where you were.” “I thought you said he started getting help for his problems.” “ He was, but I guess he flipped out and punched his therapist in the face. Now he’s losing it even more.” “Can’t you guys get him arrested for threatening you all.” “Well we call the police and they escorted him out of the building, but they said they really can’t do much until he touches someone.” “ That's bullshit. He still should get something done to him.” “I know, but it's what they said. But I wanted to call you and let you know that he’s getting worse, and I’ll keep an ear out if he does anything weird.” “Ok, thank you, Sinthea. I really appreciate it.” “Your welcome girl, I gotta get back to work now I’ll talk to you later.” “ Ok, talk later.”
